This is a good point and I'm inclined to agree with you. I feel Elizabeth has an advantage due to the length of her reign, and of course there's the matter of the thing she reigns over, which is everywhere. John Paul was around for almost thirty years, so an easy tie between those two. Benedict is too new to have percolated down to, like, Tanzania.
It sucks that we can't conduct this survey. Both are fundamentally historical figures which is why I think the competition is really between only these two and whatever difference, if there is a difference, is slight; maybe someone with a better background in this would give a good estimate.
