The DC snipers come to mind as the most recent that fits this category. My brothers told me (jokingly) that whenever they stopped for gas, they made sure to continuously bob and weave during the process.

I lived in Silver Spring through this, and the bob and weave thing while you got gas wasn't that much of a joke.

He went to Harvard at 16 and was the youngest professor ever in the Berkeley math department. Prodigy seems like a pretty good description.

That's a good question actually. Hartman died in 1998. Dimebag Darrell was killed in 2004.

Yeah, after I posted it, I started thinking if you meant someone as big of a celebrity, or bigger, as Hartman. If that's the case, hard to think of someone should fits that and was murdered after Hartman was.
