For 35 years I thought The Marshall Tucker Band sang "Pretty Little Love Song" except they sang "pretty so it sounded like "purdy". About a year ago I learned that it was "Heard It in a Love Song".

I remember listening to REM's Fables and then Lifes Rich Pageant, and I had no earthly idea what the **** Stipe was saying, so I just made it all up in my mind. And later reading the real lyrics, mine made a lot more sense.

Tks. That was my HS friend's little sister. Been lol'ing about that one for years. Also really amusing, though we couldn't tell her why, was her mis-hearing of "Rollercoaster of Love" (the original funk song, not the RHCP re-make).

It was really tough for a group of HS guys to keep it together as a 12 year-old girl went around the house singing "want a little custard, of looove. Want a little custard, ooh ooh ooh."
