If you have missed the 3-4 episodes where he's had bill burr on, you are only hurting yourself. You could legit hate rogan and probably still enjoy it. Anytime he brings him on its like a free comedy show.
This. He gets some really good guests.

cap I heard him say it with my own ears with Bill Barr. Was he leveling or something?
09-03-2020 , 01:35 AM
Yes. He was winding Bill Burr up.

All of his guests get "celebrity privilege" testing w/ fast results and he seems to take the virus very seriously in the episodes I've listened to.
09-03-2020 , 01:42 AM
Ok I like him less lessly now again.

Bill Burr is damn funny, so perhaps I'll suffer Rogan to listen to that.

Why haven't there been any Interesting Things Explained Well casts for about a year? WTF.

Also: add Dan Carlin to my list of casts i listen to.

I am definitely a fan of Bill Burr but his podcast with Bert Kreischer is ruined by the fact that he talks over him all the time. Will be interesting to listen to a Rogan/Burr podcast just to see who wins the war for conversational dominance.

I like Joe Rogan, and I think he's honest and very insightful and very funny, he's the closest thing there is to a modern day Bill Hicks imo (tho less so now that he's older, but Hicks would have eventually mellowed out too). He's also a fantastic interviewer because he lets them do their thing and doesn't usually bring his own bullshit into the mix, he can interview people he doesn't agree with or who have wacky dumbass ideas and still engage with them, and the environment of the interview (long form, no agenda, relaxed environment) brings out the best from the guests.

I don't listen to Rogan to listen to Rogan tho, but Im excited whenever I see he has someone interesting on, and I'll bookmark that ep to listen to the next long car ride I take. My life has improved from things I've heard on his podcast in the same way it has from reading a particularity good book or watching a moving movie, where I've had to think about something or encountered a new idea or realized something about myself.

I think a lot of people don't like Rogan simply because of the mma stuff. There is definitely a meathead element that love him, and the fact he was mostly known for a long time as the fear factor guy, and so lots of people i know who would like him if they actually listened to him without all their preconceived ideas about who he is, rip on him and look down on people who like him. Which I get, but I think is kinda sad because the world would be a better place if people were more like him. He'll admit when he's wrong, he approaches things with an open mind and from a position that he's a dummy and doesn't know the truth, he's the opposite of an echo chamber because he'll have on and listen to anyone. There is a lot about him that lines up with people who are into the skeptical movement, which is even funnier because they are typically the people who hate him the most.

Bill Hicks has more comedic talent in his dead, shriveled pinky imo.

Rogan being the number one podcast doesn't surprise me or bother me like Bang Theory being the number one show on tv does. There's a lot to respect about him.

I heard they frequent Five Guys and don't complain about the prices.

Rogan is my reference for that Carlin line "just think how dumb the average person is, and realise half of them are dumber than that". I'm sure many people do watch him because they think his rants are clever but they probably don't post here. He's generally a good conversationalist though which is an underappreciated talent.

That's uncanny - I am eating a five guys right now! £30 for a burger, fries, milkshake, coke, delivery and tip. Definitely warrants some complaint but the burger is great!
09-04-2020 , 12:17 PM
Why are you having both a milkshake AND a coke?

30 pounds seems quite high regardless.
09-04-2020 , 01:48 PM
No problem ordering a drink and a shake when you're eating at a restaurant, but lol at having a coke delivered.
09-04-2020 , 02:20 PM
The coke was for later and is a function of my abject(in both senses!) laziness today. When you can't even be bothered driving to a shop, I see no issue with the order. Did I say issue? I meant "alternative."
09-04-2020 , 03:36 PM
Is it a bottle of Coke? or Fountain over Ice? I wouldn't want to save a fountain coke for later!
09-04-2020 , 03:54 PM
bottle or can is fine, fountain for later is the mark of a freak and a very weird dude -- although you Euros don't like ice and that makes saving a fountain for later slightly less weird
09-04-2020 , 04:20 PM
Aren't all euros at bare minimum freaks and slightly weird dudes?

I used to hate when Euros ate at the restaurant I was a waiter at (it was a tourist place, so people from all over) because they always wanted their cokes with no ice, and the straws would never stay in the glass and would always fall out on the way to the table.

Have Americans not got wise to the ice in soft drinks scam yet? Getting a drink with ice is just allowing the shop to dilute your drink by a third and make it far colder than necessary.
