Sharp cheddar and swiss scramble on dill rye toast.
Anyone else like to mix a few tablespoons of heavy cream into their eggs?

Looks great and yes (sometimes) to the cream.

I often mix in a spoonful of Creme Fraiche in my eggs. Damn good

I rarely have cream but whole milk, sure. Scrambled eggs are also great with cream cheese or sour cream.

Nice pile of bacon too.

Just started putting mozzarella in with my eggs in my poaching/steaming(?) cooker. So good.

That sounds interesting I've never thought to do that.

we tend to have a shredded parmesan/asiago/romano mix in the house that often times finds it's way into scrambles or omelettes.

With all these great looking dishes, I thought I'd lower the tone a bit.

Protein boosting snack I've got rather hooked on recently - rice cake, homemade hummus + hot sauce, runny egg.

Not the prettiest, but tastes good and the fit is rather satisfying.



I use cottage cheese blended in the hummus for extra protein, but it also gives a really smooth, creamy consiency, without needing to use a bunch of oil.

interesting. that's the egg product out of your poacher? what type of settings does it have?

Yeh that's a 'poached' one. Just cracked it into a oiled Tupperware pot. It's good as you can chuck other stuff (like cheese) in there too to kind of cook in the egg. Can do maybe 3 of them at once or up to 7 boiled.
Doesn't really have settings. It has a measuring cup with marks on for how many eggs you're cooking, and whether hard/medium/soft. Just put that much water on the heat plate and it figures out when it's all evaporated and turns itself off. Generally takes a few minutes.

walk into the kitchen for lunch. have 10 minutes before my next call and since i'm the one that does the shopping i know there's not much to eat. for the last 20 minutes of my previous call pretty much all i could think about was scrambling a couple of eggs and finding some bread to eat with them. arrive in the kitchen and spot an empty egg carton on the counter

me: spouse!?! did you eat all the eggs?
spouse: no, i boiled the last three
me: did you eat them!?!
spouse: no, they just finished boiling and they're still in the pot in the sink. i only wanted one but cooked three since that's what was left.
me: so you only want one?
spouse: yep, the rest are yours

sometimes the simple things are perfect in the moment. two warm eggs, mayo, french's, salt, pepper and a couple of dashes of tabasco. 5 minute lunch

I thought that was going to be a sad story when I read that the eggs had already been boiled. But that sounds and looks great. Nice save!

I feel like an idiot cuz Cholula is such an awesome hot sauce and yet I've never had it in my own domicile.
