Maybe had a box or two of Alphabets 40 years ago but if so obviously they weren't good enough for mom to keep buying them, but they were on sale for $1.88 so I just got a box and will try them tomorrow. Last time I tried a cereal based on 2p2 recommendation was Cinnamon Toast Crunch and it was way too sweet, so my expectation are tempered.

Honey Bunches of Oats with heavy cream. Milk is for children and peasants.

It's been changed a bit as well. I'm looking forward to your review. If you don't like them I'll ship you my mailing address.

I still recall vividly the time I was being babysat by an elderly woman who went to serve me some of her old ass Apple Jacks and when she poured them into my bowl about 20 giant black ants came out with the JACKS into my bowl as I looked on in horror.

Then she poured milk in the bowl without noticing and the ants were all scrambling for their lives.

Did not turn me off of Apple Jacks, but one of my earliest memories.

How ghastly.

I haven't had Jacks in awhile. I like the ones with red and green. Sometimes you'll get a particularly dense Jack and it's sublime.

You have to be a complete psychotic to pour the milk before pouring the cereal

I like a lot of the cereal listed ITT but some that I thought need some love include Crispix, corn flakes, rice and corn Chex, honey bunch of oats and in the heavier sugar junk food side captain crunch with crunch berries

Raisin Bran needs to be started immediately so you can enjoy the full spectrum of crunchy on minute one to sogged out mush in minute three.

Yeah that's a terrible idea. Intentionally sogged bran. Tsk tsk

Shout out to Crispix! Thing about those and Chex that is so great is feeling the cold milk slip through the tiny squares of the cereal.

In my youth, I was denied the super sugary cereals by my parents (smart of them to do that), so I made do with two (or more!) tablespoons of white sugar in my bowl every morning ("I don't know how I got the die-beetus, Doc")

Fast forward 4 decades, and I enjoy eating the non-sugary cereals sans sugar, go figure. Cheerios, corn flakes, Kix, rice krispies, all the Chex, etc. Just some ice cold skim milk is all they need.

Meanwhile, my daughter will only eat the sugary stuff (LOL, she's 20+, living at home), so we have Cap'n Crunch or Lucky Charms (or worse) on hand most of the time.

And my wife and daughter both think I'm the savage for not using sugar.

Crispix is great, it seems its like twice as expensive as other cereals though. I was walking through the cereal isle once and decided my definition of rich is being able to buy crispix without thinking about the price.

Really dislike the idea of double milk raisin bran, though some granolas or muslix tend to soak up the milk and need a remilking a few minutes later.

I use lots of milk on all my cereals because the left over milk at the bottom of the bowl is delicious.

The jury's still out on Alpha-bits. Didn't really like the texture of (new imporved = bigger?) letters. It reminded me of generic Oatie-O's cereal and this tasted like a no-name knockoff of a real cereal. Flavor was okay but sparse, like it dissipated the moment after it hits your tongue. I added some cinamin which helped a bit, but still can't go higher than 3/5 stars. I'll see if it grows on me over the next few days. I really did like that every box tells a story, though. I bet the original version is better, just like with HoneyComb.

And yes, left over milk is delicious and a great source of calcium, protein and vitamin D

I always put just a little more cereal in the left over milk. Continue eating and repeat as needed.

ive been trying to eat more rice crispies, crispex, granola etc type cereals.

like... the sweet cereals are generally better but its just basically sugar. ive slowly realized that eating that stuff, while delicious, late at night is terrible for me and my sleep cycle.
