What's the deal with cereal? What's the deal with cereal?

Inspired by a recent tangent in the "Things that shouldn't piss you off" thread, this is the spot for talking about one of the greatest food inventions of mankind.

Possible icebreakers:
- Are you a cereal mixer? One on top, a different on bottom?
- Name brand or generic?
- Do you pour the milk first or on top of the cereal?
- Do you even use milk?
- Decadent sugary stuff or keeping it basic?
- Are all cereal inventors batshit crazy?

I'm on my second bowl of cocoa pebbles right now, hit me with your cereal opinions bros.

I like granola with milk as a sweet thing. Only box cereal I would still like is probably plain ol Rice Krispies. Maybe Fruity Pebbles too. Maybe I should start smoking more pot. Do they make Cookie Crunch, or whatever that was called.

Great thread idea.

I need to eat more cereal. Maybe do a total cereal diet. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Yes I am a habitual cereal eater but I'll only have it with the tiniest amount of milk just so that it coates it to make it less crunchy.

Maybe you should start a thread about dip too. Why can't people have dip for dinner? Why is it only a snack?

I eat oatmeal but after it is cooked I put in a half a cup of dry cereal. Always something sweet. Oh's are my favorite but will change it up from time to time for a change of pace. Also like Honey Bunches of Oats, Honey Nut Frosted Flakes. Cap'n Crunch and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I like the mushy/crunchy mix and the cereal sweetens the oatmeal.

I looove cereal. I pour large bowls, drown in milk, and just shovel it in my mouth rapidly until its gone. Then the ensuing drink of cold sweet milk is just a perfect bow on top.

I like basically everything but Grape Nuts, though its been over 20 years since I dare tried.

I saw these a couple days ago, intriguing.

Rice crispies were originally made in decommissioned cannons. They'd stream the rice in the cannon, seal it and let the pressure build up until they burst out.

Probably why the mascots are called snap, crackle, & pop.

I preferred the old school pieces of puffed rice krispies. No sugary changed bullshit.

i rarely eat cereal anymore because it's just so bad for you its almost all sugar and no nutritional value.

when i was younger my favorite was fruity pebbles, with extra milk and i always let it sit for a few minutes before eating to really let the cereal flavor get into the milk. there is nothing better than drinking the pinkish/reddish sugar-milk at the bottom of a bowl of fruity pebbles.

Depends on which one - the chocolate ones yeah but there are some cereals with very good nutritional value.
