Pre-Apocalypse Plague Years Breakfast Report: Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cheerios has something special about it, definitely my current favorite. I'm still purchasing/eating Bear Naked Cacao & Cashew Granola and the HEB Cerealology Cinnamon Mocha as well.
I have eaten Quaker Oats Raisin and Spice (purple/white box) for well over 30 years and recently it has completely dissapeared from my grocer's shelves.
It appears it has been replaced by some sort of "date" version. It has completely ruined oatmeal for me. I am trying to regroup but it has been a challenge.
Thankfully, my 2.25 lb bag of Cocoa Pebbles is here to comfort me.
Any oatmeal lovers out there?
I'm sure some of you olds with fiber issues is gobbling that **** down on the reg.
I don't believe I've ever heard of that cereal. Sounds like something I'd like.
I actually had a bowl with a packet of peaches n cream and a packet of bananas n cream today. Little bit of milk, and in this rare instance, a dollop of ****ing whip cream! It was really good. I rarely eat oatmeal, but I have so much of it! I buy it fairly often because it seems like a good deal and I like it.
When I was a kid my grandpa would make straight ****ing oatmeal, (a cannister of large dry oats) it was not sweet and I really disliked it. I'd really like to have a bowl of it now.
I will continue to try healthier versions, maybe even some of those fancy steel cut Irish oats right out of the barrel.
I've had them before and wasn't huge on them.
Any recommendations? Maybe putting fresh raisins in would help make it less bland.
I generally put water in a coffee mug then put the mug in the microwave for 90 seconds. During that time, I open the packets and pour the contents into bowl. When the water is hot, I pour it onto the oatmeal and stir until it's the bomb.
BH - Is there where you are throwing the milk? Is that in addition to the water? Whole milk? Chocolate milk?
Is there another method to cooking oatmeal I am not aware of?
Steel cut overnight oats is my preferred oat delivery vessel. Oats, Salt, some nut/cow milk, honey, preferred frozen fruit (Raspberry goat). Usually assemble them 4 containers at a time, eat cold.
