Definitely seems like it would be worth paying a frame shop to put it in their print press, as opposed to leaving it out like that to get damaged.

Those prints look beautiful.

Here is something I just opened. Been dabbling in art lately, thought this could walk the line between inspiration and usefulness. It's actually pretty neat.

I bought an used Sony RX100 VI on a whim for $400. A friend just assumed (incorrectly) I am a photography nerd and I couldn’t pass up on such a good deal. I figured at lead I could make my steak pics a little more competitive in the steak thread.

It’s been a revelation what a camera with a proper (relative to smartphones) lense can do. I am just using default settings and autofocus and the images have been great.

Thanks... I got it. I've done many many of these... I've got a bit of an art problem. I have art, what's the problem.

Bose noise cancelling headphones 700

Might not be a big deal to a lot of you, but I've never had noise cancelling headphones before. I have two kids and work from home, so these have changed my life. I never thought I needed to spend so much on headphones. Apparently, I did.

Just moved into a new house in June and we've put nothing on the walls. We have easily 30 framed pieces and who knows how many unframed prints. It's to the point where my anniversary/birthday presents to my wife have becoming matting something that's been sitting in a roll for four years. It's new to us!

All those Apple commercials that say "Shot with an iPhone" have in really small print "Additional Equipment and Software Used". The additional equipment is a decent lens.

If you don't mind me asking, roughly how much do those things run?

Didn't actually buy, but got a load free. All the flavours are nice, but this one is amazing imo.

Nutritionally healthy, calorifically not.

Nutritionally healthy? Idk if I'd say that. Over 50% of the calories in that thing are from sugar (natural or no).

Could say the same about a lot of fruits.

I have prints and originals... most of collection is print based. It has to be prints made by serigraph or other 'quality' means made by master print makers... I don't collect giclee or photography.

Prints in my collection range from a hundred bucks to several thousand dollars each. The jeremy mann above was about a grand... before framing. The 2001 lenticular I posted weeis ago was about 300 bucks and now sell on the secondary market for 800ish or so.

After scorching myself a few times trying to pour thin sauces and ramen out of my old trusty all clad sauce pans, I bought a 2-qt copper-core saucier for the flared rims without the degraded thermal responsiveness of D5.

It's frigging amazing. Super responsive for making sauces. Perfect size for making a single bowl of ramen. Quite a bit easier to get the little bits off bottom the pan. It's also the perfect size to cook 1 cup of rice on the stove. I've used it for a good 50% or so of my meals since I bought it.

Could I have bought a triply with flared rims from a cheaper brand? Yeah, probably. But I've been collecting all-clad for almost 20 years now and they are all still with me, even the non-stick teflon (lol waste of money) ones. The older ones have been responsible for thousands of meals.

+1

Although, in my case, it was a Sony a5100 camera for around the same price. It's bigger than your RX100, but the sensor is roughly four times larger. I formerly had an RX100 (mk 3?) but when I replaced that due to damage, I got the a5100 for around the same price but with the option of alternative lenses.

(FWIW, if I was buying a new camera, I probably wouldn't get the a5100: I'd try to find one that doesn't overheat while recording long videos... With my a5100, I would film my local basketball league games, and found that it would overheat and stop recording)

Nice... I am a fan also. I find there is a difference and I dont have to rebuy some pan every year or two. Like a good set of tools, these are always valuable.

49" 5120x1440 IPS display. Amazing for productivity. Loads better than the dual 27" 2560x1440 displays I had prior. Now I just need a new GPU to drive a second one of these babies and I'll be set for flight simulator

I bought 2 of these

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I already had two glued to the backsplash.

I bought two more and stacked them horizontally to store my all clad lids. No more messy piles of stainless steel lids

Recently was gifted a block set of J.A. Henckel knives and am pretty blown away at just how noticeable the difference is between the crappy ones ive had forever is. I have managed to slice my fingers three times in the few months ive had them now lol. Expensive knives are way better and sharper than cheap Ross/walmart grab bag collection, who woulda thunk?

I thought sharper knives made it so you didn't cut yourself as much. Maybe that's just an old wives' tale.

The idea is sharp knives means you cut through stuff more easily and slip less.

I think that is true but knives really don't need to be razor sharp for them to basically never slip.

For most people and for most uses, a well kept decent kitchen knife that's not chipped or very dull will be just fine.

I think this

Is the ideal balance between sharpness and ease of use for vast majority of chefs. The electric sharpener is optional if you learn to use honing rods.

The setup I have for my wife is an old Wusthof and a cheap Chinese vegetable cleaver that she feeds through the finest setting on the electric sharpener to "hone" the chef knives. She's been extremely happy with it and has come around to thinking sharp knives are great.
