A trash bag full of empty cans is much much lighter than one full of empty bottles.

damn, you people are easily offended.
let me rephrase - my personal preference:
Poured from a cask>poured from a keg>poured from a bottle>straight from a bottle=poured out of a can (depends on kind of beer, Weissbier/Hefeweizen should always be in a glass)>>>straight from a can

I apologize for insulting canned beer drinkers, rednecks and homeless people alike

I wasn't offended, as it was clear you just weren't aware of the growing popularity of cans among American craft brewers and drinkers. I tried to explain the advantages of cans. When did you last drink a good canned craft brew, poured into a glass? Given that you didn't even know any existed, I'm guessing never; so I'm not sure how you can be confident about your personal preference.

I was absolutely turned off by the idea of any canned beer (I associated them with American mass market crap) until I tried Dale's Pale Ale. You should try it too, if you like American style hoppy ales.

I've had the same beer poured out of cans and bottles before so I have a frame of reference from that.

Isn't preferring the bottle over the can for traditionalist/purist reasons a valid point, too?
I know they make pretty good wine in boxes these days, but I still prefer to open a nice bottle. The pouring is part of the drinking experience, which is why cask beats all even though its hard as hell to cool one of those things, haha

I'm up for doing a blind taste test if I can find the time and some buddies that wanna join. I'll ask for some canned beer suggestions if I manage to make it happen

I'm actually interested to try the new expedited-shipping Pilsner Urquell.

That's one of those beers that you just can't get a good bottle of in the US thanks to the green glass and all. But now that they're in cans and supposedly shipped much faster, I'll probably pick some up. If its as good as the stuff I had in Prague, it'll be a regular buy, most likely.

I play in a kickball league at a local park and they let us drink at the games but we can't bring glass so I find myself searching for good beer in cans.

Went to Double Mountain last week in Hood River, an hour or so East of Portland. Had an insanely good bourbon-barrel-aged brown ale that came in at 12% ABV. That brewery alone is worth the trip. Their normal stuff is very good and a few of their seasonals are near the top of my list of favorite beers. The KGB fresh-hop IPA is at the top. It's right across the street from Full Sail if you want to hit that up as well.

Hood River in general is well worth the day if you go visit Portland, with a lot of wineries, fruit orchards and great beer. Apparently it's one of the best places to windsurf as well, though I've never done that.

Guinness from the can > bottled Guinness

Too many variables for this ******ed comparison to be valid

Grrrrrr...
All of the new Pilsner Urquell packaging will explicitly state “Express Shipped Cold” and will be available in the following packages, in addition to draft:
  • Four-pack cans

Ugh, bought a case of Rogue American Amber at Costco and I'm pretty underwhelmed. I've slogged my way through half of it but now I'm really craving something different.

On the flipside I recently checked out both Migration Brewing and Gigantic Brewing for the first time. Gigantic is SWEET -- on my way home from work and their beer is fantastic. The only downside is that they close at 9pm so it's not a good place to meet up with friends in the evening, since none of us can go out until after our kids are in bed.

Migration is also very good but kinda far from where I live.

Bought a 6 pack of Real Ale Belgian Style Tripel. It's good. I think it was $9 for 6 12-oz bottles with 8+% abv and a 86 score on beer advocate. Claims to be produced in a small Texas town so I don't know if it's a local beer or national.

1. Stella Artois 2. Samuel Adams 3. Canadian 4. Bravaria.

Bottled usually at home or a party.

Draught - Canadian - Toby - Sleemans Lager - Amsterdam Natural Blonde.

Usually when we are out at a pub or whatever if they have taps.

If you are ever in Toronto check out Amsterdam Has a Brew Pub at Queen and Bathhurst ? Excellent selection of tap.
