had my first ever 'sour ale' tonight. somehow didnt even know that was a thing. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/48/10482
was fairly tasty although it really didnt taste like beer to me, more like a whisky sour or something. anyone else had this or similar?
I'm kind of surprised by all the Hoegaarden love itt. To me it tasted exactly like Miller Lite.
I picked up a sixer of Lienenkugel's Oktoberfest and St. Arnold Oktoberfest today to do a comparison and I think the St. Arnold is better. Not impressed by Lienens. It's about similar to Sam Adams' Okt.
Had an awesome smell or caramel. Thought it's supposed to be a vanilla stout, but either way was awesome beer. One of my favorites.
Another one I can't find a picture of, maybe because it's fairly new was the Souther Tier Mok-ha (sp). It's a mix of their Choklat and Jah-va. That was really good too. But didn't really get the Mocha, or even Java type taste to it that I really like.
Also had this:
Huge in flavor, was kinda deceived thinking Imperial would be TOO much for me, but I greatly enjoyed it without much hassle, wouldn't drink after a large meal though lol, with a chocolate bar it was awesome.
Next I wana try is an oatmeal stout,
But at the moment only access is to a 6 pack of breckinridge oatmeal stout, and I just don't want that much.
