Their lager is ass and their Octoberfest just came in so I got 12 longnecks and 2 in I was thinking "damn I gotta drink 10 more of these or give them away".

I always forget what beers I don't care for.

Kolsch and Summer ale are fine. Latitude 48 IPA isn't that good, Boston Lager is good, and the Light is just terrible. An OK sampler pack though it's taken me a while to drink.

Anyone try these scottish beers from Innis and Gunn?

Oak aged.

This one is like a "whiskey" beer.

Aged in rum cask
And this one is a "rum" beer.

Both awesome imo, and strong.

The (newish) Molson M beer is pretty damn good for a day-to-day and getting drunk beer. For some reason it's not as good in a bottle, but pretty awesome in a can or keg. Real smooth.

I'm going to try as many pumpkin beers I can find over the next couple months.
In the past couple weeks I've had these so far:

Wolaver's Pumpkin Ale
Snagged this when I went to Wegman's. They had about 8 or 9 different brands and I couldn't decide so I just grabbed this one. Average at best. 4/10

Saranac Pumpkin Ale
Split a case of this with my neighbor after seeing it at a distributor at only $22.99. It's pretty good for a normal beer-type beer but there isn't a lot of pumpkin flavor to it. 6/10

RiverHorse Imperial Pumpkin
Was excited to try this because I've heard good things about RiverHorse but was not impressed at all. No pumpkin flavor at all and the neighbor paid something like $10 for a 4-pack. Save your money. 2/10

yup I work for an anheiser-busch distributer (they own michelob) and jacks wasn't popular at all. Don't blame em cuz I didn't think it was very good either but to each his own. I think the shocktop pumpkin wheat is much better though so I'd def recommend it.

btw I highly recommend the documentary beer wars for anyone interested, it follows a few microbreweries and how tough it is for the them to compete with the big three (or two I guess), despite having a far superior product. the shock top crap makes me mad every time I see it, it's like a fake microbrew

We need to make a list of best pumpkin/oktoberfest type beers. I will be buying a lot of these and don't want to waste money on inferior pumpkin brew.

After a couple of them tonight it barely beats out the Saranac for the best one so far. When it's really cold it tastes a lot like normal ShockTop (which I like also) but when the beer warms up just a bit the pumpkin flavor comes out a little more. Still not enough pumpkiny goodness though. 7/10

Picked up what looked like a 22 or 25oz bottle of this tonight. Hoping it's decent since it cost $11. Had never heard of it before but it sounds delicuous.

"As per the analysis, Dogfish Heads Theobroma (translated into 'food of the gods') is brewed with Aztec cocoa powder and cocoa nibs (from our friends at Askinosie Chocolate), honey, chilies, and annatto (fragrant tree seeds). It's light in color - not what you expect with your typical chocolate beer."

The Schlafly Pumpkin is very good imo. I've had almost all their beers being from St Louis and this is the best they've done. They get a unique spicy pumpkiny taste and bottle at a high ABV (8%). They mask the alcohol well and it's overall the best pumpkin I've had. I wish I had Dogfish's Punkin to taste side by side since I recall really enjoying that one as well.

I'm not saying it's some kind of awesome high class beer. Just a nice summer beer, goes down super smooth, easy to drink fast/chug. Pretty much what they said, it's like a light beer, except even easier to drink, and still 4.9%.

Don't get the love for Sapporo at all. Exactly the same as any other mega lager other than its from Canada. Oh wait I mean Japan, yeah, Japan. And what does "easy to drink" even mean? It tastes like nothing? I mean you can pick up Sierra Nevada for the same price as any of these other terrible lagers and at least there's something to it.

I don't just drink Sapporo to drink it. But if I'm eating hibachi I always get Sapporo. It just seems to go really well with the food I get.
