One that I haven't seen mentioned is Asahi, which is pretty probably the beer I drink most often - although I suppose that's partly because it seems to be quite widely available.

My favorite is probably Little Creatures Bright Ale. Not sure if you can get it outside Aus, but it's absolutely amazing. Although really I have different favorites for different situations.

Had a beer in Belgium called Stropken (translation: noose) which was like 8%, but one of the lightest tasting beers I've had.

And no aussies drink fosters...except my dad.

Lots of fights at the Nuisance household.

Have to add a Stegmaier IPA for basically only you, since I have no idea if that's really available anywhere else in the country.

little creatures is available in NZ too.

coopers pale, sparkling, and dark ales (which reece mentioned) have only been around here for a couple of years, but are now super-standard and popular, and available in every supermarket. as a 24 year old I can barely go to a party or casual dinner or anything without seeing the 750ml bottles of the pale ale. it isn't amazing, but it's better than most of the popular beers people drink.

Definitely this. I first had their IPA two years ago on a whim when I was visiting California and loved it. Now it is popping up all over Chicago and it has even been the drink special at a few bars. $3 for a pint is heaven.

LOL. Not white trash though she just like cheap watered down beer.

The only Stegmaier beer I ever had is Lionshead we used to drink it back in the day because you can get a case for like $12 and 12pack for under $10 since it's brewed the next city over. I actually used to live right up the block from the brewery. I'm not really fan of IPA's it's a bit hoppy for me although I did taste one a friends was drinking and it was pretty good.

Nelson IPA.

ABA is expensive as hell and hard to find where I live. I believe a big bottle is around $10.

$10 is far from a bad price for a bomber (or 750mL) of a high end beer

Just had the IPA for the first time at a rehersal dinner last week and loved it. The hopstoopid sounds delicious too. Will definitely look for it.

This stuff is amazing! They sell it in Against The Grain on Wexford St, and it will remind you of a bacon and cheese burger. Madness. You wouldn't drink more than a couple in one sitting imo.
