Same. Tobolowsky is now my new favorite podcaster. I just wish he made more and more often.

Sounds eerily like something else I used to like...

I will definitely check this out.

lol my thoughts exactly Ashington

It may seem weird if it's just an audio podcast though. If they're bashing a bad movie; I'd like to see what they are bashing.

They definitely don't stay on topic. They are funnier if you've seen the film in question but I still happily listen to the ones where I haven't seen it.

This last episode of Norm Macdonald Live with Gilbert Gottfried as the guest was the best one yet. I don't want to ruin anything but it ends with Norm making a powerful political statement:

Spoiler:
Norm pours gasoline on himself and is ready to self-immolate in protest of the KONY injustices.

Kevin Pollak's Chat Show is a fantastic interview style podcast. I usually skip the first 10 minutes of BS to get to the interview, but they're all a couple hours long and fun conversations. The only knock is that Kevin gushes with adoration. Everything the interviewee said or did was "amazing", "perfect", and "spectacular".

Also, The Champs Yo, with the co-creator of Chappelle Show and another stand-up comedian, is excellent. The genesis of the podcast came from noticing that there is such a small black-American presence in the podcasting world, so all their guests are black (for the most part). The show got better once their third associate left (he was a DJ who'd randomly insert audio clip "drops").

The Champs got worse when DJ Dougpound left the show imo. Moshe Kasher is consistently funny, but Brennan interrupts guests too much, talks over Kasher too much and isn't as funny as Kasher on a consistent basis. Props to him for co-creating Chappelle's Show and Half Baked though.

DJ Dougpound would provide great drops that had me loling more than Brennan.

are you kidding me, thats what drives the show. i find their antics very funny. too bad they quit, only podcast i really listened to.

recently ive been trying to find good new podcasts. so far ive listened to this american life and wait wait..something.. the last one was way too cheesy and the first one i didnt get. but it was a special episode so maybe thats why.

My roommate listened to joe rogan but he is too much mma and also thinks he has knowledge no one else has.
Fwiw i do like his standup and work in newsradio, his podcast seems to lack a bit of filtering i guess.

I've never listened to a podcast (that I know). Seems like I've been missing out.

(I listen to a lot of the shows mentioned on the radio)

BBC's world service does the best news podcast on world news called Global News. Its 30 min long and updated twice a day IIRC.

Listening to a ton right now, will probably have to cut back as I'm falling behind.

- Art of Wrestling (comedy wrestler Colt Cabana interviews lots of other wrestlers)

- The Bugle (Daily Show comedian John Oliver talks about British-centric news with another British comedian)
- Bullseye (Interview show hosted by Jesse Thorn)
- Comedy Bang Bang
- The Complete Guide To Everything (Comedic podcast centered around a weekly topic)
- Doug Loves Movies
- The Fourth Player (Australia-based gaming podcast)
- Giant Bombcast
- How Was Your Week (Conversational interview show hosted by comedian Julie Klausner)

- Mega64 Podcast (Gaming sketch comedy group's podcast)
- The Memory Palace
- Mike and Tom Eat Snacks (Two guys review various snacks)
- The Moth Podcast (storytelling show)
- My Brother, My Brother and Me (3 brothers answer advice questions)
- The Nerdist
- Pod F. Tompkast (Unfortunately idle podcast of Paul F. Tompkins)
- Professor Blastoff (Comedic science-based show featuring various experts of different fields with comedian Tig Notaro. Must listen to at least one episode with the "Name That Punky" game show segment)
- Smart Wrestling Fan (Weekly wrestling review and commentary)
- Stop Podcasting Yourself (Canadian comedy podcast)
- This American Life
- The Todd Barry Podcast (Interview show with comedian Todd Barry)

Brag: Found a Ricky Gervais podcast that has stuff going all the way back to 2008

Beat: The episodes are like 10 minutes long and are mostly snippets of other content

Variance: When the **** does Norm MacDonald's "summer hiatus" end?

If the Grantland podcasts are as good as the website I'm going to have to check some out. And y'all convinced me to check out Norm's too.

MY LIST:
This American Life:
-the first time I listened to it I turned it off out of boredom. But thankfully I've given it another chance and I haven't missed an episode in 5 years. Amazing stuff.

Radiolab:
-also amazingly well done. Well worth a listen.

Freakonomics

Planet Money

Dr. Drew
-however I wish he'd take more calls ala loveline.

This has become my favorite non comedy. One thing I found out: you can get weekly episodes free, but they charge a buck each for old ones. I had to set my iPhone to auto download them as they are released in order to get them all without paying extra. I upgraded my phone this week and lost all but the most recent one.

Just so you know they have an app that has every episode ever made available for streaming (even their awesome TV series) along with some other neat features.

It's only 4 or 5 bucks and well worth it IMO. And since the show operates off listener contributions you can get that warm and fuzzy feeling inside for buying it.

My current favorites are:

EconTalk
The Fat-Burning Man
Smarter Science of Slim
The Lew Rockwell Show

It should be noted that it all started with Mike and Adam and the Pokercast.

If you like the hipping and hopping- my homey Intuition does a podcast called Kinda Neat (kindaneat.net) where he apes Maron's format and and talks with rappers, producers and people otherwise associated with hip-hop. Mostly LA indie stuff. The eps with Kyle Gray is really interesting if you're familiar with the Grind Time battle series.

Carolla and Jay Mohrs, never miss an episode.
Bill Simmons if it's a topic I care about or a great guest.
All the rest are only if its a guest I think is interesting:
Alison Rosen, Aisha Tyler, Joe Rogan, Pete Holmes
Oh yeah and **** the Crabfeast 5 Stars!

Carolla is now unlistenable IMO. He steamrolls his guests with the same rants he's told a million times, determines everyone's worth by how much they pay in taxes, and will not stop talking about how he hates his parents. Listening to him to find the occasional nugget of funny just isn't worth all of the other stuff.
