Sam Harris every episode
Reasonable Doubt with Mark Geragos every episode
One Rogan pod a week
Survivor Know-it-Alls when Survivor is on

I've cut way back and only listen to one of the seven podcasts I listed originally in this thread in 2013.

Life after online poker.

I picked up on that before tigerbelly was even a thing, she used to come on the DVDASA podcast (David Choe and Asa Akira were hosts) with Bobby.
you really think money is the only reason she's with him?

I just don't get that vibe at all, they seem to really like each other and she seems to really like him, sure the financial benefits play a role but she doesnt strike me as that shallow

just my opinion, maybe I'm a sap and just cant see it

Not for the faint of heart.

About last night - comedians Adam Ray and Brad Williams have guests and talk about one of them being a Jew and one being a midget.

Bertcast podcast- Bert kreisher, supposedly the inspiration for the movie "Van Wilder" has guests and talks about doing stand up comedy.

I don't think it's the ONLY reason. He's likable and funny as well. I just think she wouldn't be with him if he was making meager wages, I despise girls like that. If a girl wouldn't like me if I was flat broke, I don't want anything to do with her (relationship-wise anyway).

Yeah, what kind of girl isn't going to be jumping at the chance to date a guy who's flat broke?

Bert is a moron and boring. As fun as it is listening to him make up every story and stumble through pretending to be a comedian.

Adam and Brad are pretty good. Their chemistry is better than either of their standup material.

Jason is a gem on How Did This Get Made. I can listen to him talk about anything.

Nowadays I'm listening to more podcasts but almost never on a regular basis

The only podcast I listen to week-to-week is Pod Save America. Great podcast from former members of Barack Obama's administration.

I stopped listening to Sam Harris after his moronic outburst with Ezra Klein. I now listen to Ezra's podcast instead. I definitely misjudged Sam's character and personality and I feel pretty embarrassed about it.

There are a few others I listen to on-and-off that I haven't mentioned here:

Inside the Hive with Nick Bilton
Stay Tuned With Preet
Backstory
China History Podcast
The History of World War II Podcast

Not to poli-tard this thread, but that Harris/Klein feud made neither of them look good.

I don't care how much money a girl has or makes (nor do most guys I know), I expect the same in return. It's gender equality.

You can expect it, but your expectations are are not based in reality. Rich, successful women want financially stable, competent partners.

I don't think my expectations are totally unrealistic, but yes, sadly many women are shallow, materialistic, or even greedy, and put a lot of weight on what a partner makes. I don't want anything to do with them on an emotional level. Why would I?

You think it's shallow to want the person you are with to be competent and able to provide resources for a child /family?

Hot take: All else equal, I would prefer the woman with a lot of money.

Who said anything about a family? We're talking about single people dating for companionship. I don't think it's accurate to say that most women who are interested in men because of money are first and foremost interested in supporting kids. Kids shouldn't even be a topic of discussion until you've been together for some time.

That being said, if you have a burning desire to spit out children, I guess it's fine to expect a man to make as much money as you.

Eh I think women are more attracted to confidence/ personality than anything. I have a blue collar job although I get paid reasonably well, and am working on an economics degree. I do try my best not to get involved with superficial women, but I can definitely be a bit hypocritical myself as I immediately disqualify women if I don't think they are pretty enough for me.

I don't really care how much my partners make. My last Gf was a doctor and the one before that was a bartender. Both relationships failed for reasons entirely unrelated to money.

But everyone cares about looks, it's not a uniquely male thing. Caring about the money a potential mate has is almost completely a female thing.

On a political note, I find it strange how the "red pill" crowd seems to blame feminism for that, but it seems to me that is the polar opposite of feminism. They're like, "All these western women are terrible feminists who only want us for our money and status, we should go overseas to meet asian wives who are definitely only into us because of our money and status."

Almost all women want children at some point. Women are attracted to men with money because it's an indication of competence. It's innate.

Casual caveman theory aside, any woman who has a prerequisite that her mate have/make more money than her is a crappy person I don't want to be involved with. I want a girl to like me for me, not my collection of DVDs.

Maybe. But I find women care much less about looks then men do. I consider myself to be average looking, but I'm smart, funny, and charismatic. I have typically dated up in terms of my appearance vs. hers.

Social status or whatever hasn't been much of issue, but again I'm not attracted to the basic bithches who would care about how much money I make.

I agree with your general sentiment that I don't want a girl who is into me at my best, but won't stick by me at my worst.

I think rather than it mattering less, looks aren't as binary when it comes to men. Take a hot 8/10 girl, 99% of guys would probably be attracted to her appearance. A hot 8/10 guy, probably like 20% of girls would be attracted to his appearance. You could see that as looks mattering less, or you could see that as more variable and unpredictable things that click for girls appearance-wise.

Why don't you guys start a podcast about what men and women are looking for in a partner? At least then you would be on topic for this thread and I could choose to not listen to your podcast.

Haha. Point taken. I almost didn't make that last post for that reason. This convo would be better served in online dating thread
