Many podcasts I listen to are just regular people talking about subjects they enjoy talking about. So I tend to think of all podcasts that way . . . until something breaks the fourth wall.
I listen to a couple of podcasts from the Parcast network:
https://www.parcast.com/ These are true crime podcasts, Serial Killers and Unsolved Murders. They aren't always great, but they are usually interesting. They feature some bad re-enactments of the killer's sometimes. And the banter between the hosts seems forced. But I deal with it because they are good besides that.
But then the last episode of Unsolved Murders did what they usually do, feature voice actors doing the voices of the killers and/or victims. Except this time, the voice actor portraying the victim was Greg Polcyn--the host of the Serial Killers podcast.
So I listened to the end of the podcast (I usually stop when they start doing the credits), and realized that the "hosts" are also just voice actors, with no particular knowledge or interest in the subject at hand. The odd thing is that they list one of the hosts of Serial Killers as appearing on the Unsolved Murders episode, but not the other one whom I recognized.
