The kind of chocolate does matter. White chocolate is basically just cocoa butter (aka fat), sugar and milk solids and has none of the health benefits that dark chocolate provides.
If you’re going for a ‘healthy’ trail mix, you should always use 70%+ cocoa dark chocolate, 85%+ is even better.
Also dry roasted nuts > oil roasted nuts, especially if you use prepackaged nuts that are usually roasted in the cheapest oil available.
I love the ‘BOLD’ and ‘Crafted’ lines from Blue Diamond, especially wasabi & soy but unfortunately they are also oil roasted. Their oven roasted almonds line has none of my favorite flavors unfortunately.
