It's only slightly more complicated.

Instead of having to multiply by 35 1/38ths of the time, you have to multiply by 35 1/37ths of the time.

I have a few Romanian coworkers who got their start dealing in the cruise ship industry. Maybe that's worth a look.

Casino Dealer/Croupier

Wolly,

Optometrists make more money than dealers and donít need to be good at math.

There are also lots of truck driving jobs that donít involve any loading/unloading.

I thought that if I try as a dealer I might be promoted to a pit boss and after that I could get into serious business as a manager.Don't managers earn a lot of money?

Re: Casino Dealer/Croupier

Wolly,

Maybe tomorrow you can talk about what your plan would be if you decide to go the optometrist route.

If you go the casino route, yes being promoted to a serious business manager is the way to go. Lots of money there for sure. And then you can get promoted to director, even more money. Then Vice President, GM, President, CEO - just more and more money as you keep getting promoted to even more serious business boss roles. Iím kinda surprised more casino dealers donít choose this path.

I am trying to figure out the decision criteria that limited the career options to truck driver, casino dealer, and optometrist. It seems like longshoreman and dance instructor should also be considered.

Re: Casino Dealer/Croupier

Actually your question reminds me of how my parents forced to go into a camp of electricians(I had no passion and no intention) and I realised that everything that is related to electricity is in a parallel line with me.I had no idea what a cable is or does,or what a plug does and I had to learn some things that I never appreciated or loved in school or highschool.I mean the theory was so hard and I didn't know what I was doing there. One time I didn't know that an electrician had to build things with wood like carpenters. There was this test that I hated with all my heart and I never accomplished it.That test was about visualization(like in space geometry where you have to think of that object). That increased my stress level and I felt lonely, depressed.
I never hated science subject but when I saw the level of knowledge of most of the participants I realized that this is not how I want to end up.I mean almost all of them had no idea about AC and they all had the impression that if they are good/excellent at DC they will know all the mysteries of this job.Now I realized that without the full understanding of how the current works you will not be able to plug something in your socket and without the theory you will end up dead from higher voltage.
The volunteers didn't even mentioned about the fact that not everyone had the same profession(we were electronics technicians) and they told us about higher voltage like we were Electrical Engineers or something. We had no idea what higher voltage was when we started our highschool and these volunteers believed we were so smart that we could solve all electrical problems of a machine.
Now I no longer want to be an electronic technician because I have no idea how to work with a soldering gun and I don't like that.Playing with a soldering gun is no joke. You could get hurt.I used it a few times for some resistors and I didn't like what I did.
Did my story impressed/shocked you?

Have you considered marrying a rich person? That way you wouldn't have to work.

It's a dead end job. It could lead to a supervisor job with less pay at first (in most places), and it's not as stable, lucrative or prestigious as being an optometrist.

Don't you understand why your parents sent you to the electricians camp? You had no idea what a cable does or what a plug does but now you do! (hopefully).
