The finish was too far gone so it had to be restored. But only lamination repairs and finish. Everything else stayed original. The table is basically a display.

Wow, that is really nice work.

When you say it's a display, is there a market for people (or maybe casinos?) that want to have older stuff that's purely decorative? Or maybe it's a decoration for you, personally?

It's a display because it's missing the original table. The table would have had all the electronics to run the wheel. Since I'm missing the original table I'm building one to display how it worked. When I acquired the wheel it had been dropped sometime in its life. I'm assuming it was broken and then replaced by another gaffed wheel. This one was set aside and someone took it home. Most of these wheels didn't survive because it was either destroyed by agents or destroyed by the people who gaffed them so they wouldn't get caught. Who knows for sure, I'm still trying to find provenance.
