With right I ,and I can only assuming everyone ITT, mean that your shampoo contained an ingredient that has been tested on animals for like forever.

If you agree with what LoL found out about the shampoo, doesn't that mean that you can pretty much buy anything as long as the producing company itself didn't test it on animals ? It would simplify your shopping by quite a bit.

Jason's Pure:

Aqua (Water)‚ Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate‚ Decyl Glucoside‚ Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine‚ Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (1)‚ Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract (1)‚ Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract (1)‚ Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract (1)‚ Equisetum Arvense Leaf Extract (1)‚ Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract (1)‚ Panax Ginseng Root Extract‚ Biotin‚ Citric Acid‚ Cocamidopropyl Dimethylamine‚ Dimethicone‚ Glycerin‚ Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride‚ Hydrolyzed Soy Protein‚ Panthenol‚ Sodium Chloride‚Sodium Hydroxide‚ Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate‚ Sodium Phytate‚ Sodium Sulfate‚ Tocopheryl Acetate‚ Alcool (1)‚ Ethylhexylglycerin‚ Phenoxyethanol‚Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone‚ Benzyl Benzoate‚ Benzyl Salicylate‚ Butylphenyl Methylpropional‚ Coumarin‚ Fragrance (Parfum).

That's from their website, and I'm guessing Alcool is Alcohol, so yeah, maybe they just copied the ingredient list from some Great Value shampoo brand or something.

We can use non vegan products and companies if it's more practical

Some of my friends do protests in front of Brooklyn clothes over them. To be honest I didn't see many wearing them in Vancouver but they were all the rage in NYC last winter

If you go vegan you can join them! There's been some pushing and shoving; you won't have to wait long for an opportunity to haul off on some wanker

B,

I'm on board. Had a vegan BBQ yesterday - grilled zucchini, peppers, corn, onions. Fruit salad and pasta salad. Chips and salsa.

Couple of people brought potato salad with mayo and watermelon salad w feta cheese and mint. And the cookies and brownies had some butter and eggs in them. Not technically vegan, but close enough.

Only real exceptions we made were burgers, hot links, polish sausage, and chicken.

Gotta say, I started out skeptical, but it turned out to be a really good BBQ.

I'm not vegan enough to help in a protest against actual needless cruelty? Would they really refuse my efforts?

FWIW, I have no idea what I'm doing or how this works but googling the first ingredient (Calcium Carbonate) and animal testing shows that apparently they have killed rats to test this product and have put it in the eyes and skin of cute little bunnies to make sure you don't get a booboo if you use it.

I'm really asking his opinion. LoL has a completely different interpretation of what's vegan than any self-proclaimed vegan I've met

And I wasn't just asking LoL everyone else is welcome to chime in

Some Jainists filter water with a cloth before drinking and then rinse the cloth in the water source to save as many tiny creatures as possible.

So yeah, at least bunnies and rats have died for that stuff.

LoL,
could you show us a truly vegan toothpaste ? I've looked around and pretty much everything I find has somehow been tested on animals at some point. Interested in your thoughts.

My daughter-the-vegetarian has a Canada Goose down-filled-jacket... but she attends university back east where it is pretty damn cold, plus she only wears it when it is damn cold, so seems okay to me as the majority of the year she just stores it in a closet.

Vegan BBQs sound delicious... much better than eating only meat.

Amazin,

Which of these two people would you rather be? Which do you think respects the value of all lives more?

1) a vegan, let's call this person vegan x

2) a person who makes choices and lives a lifestyle that results in 10% of the total animal suffering and death as vegan x, but includes some meat/fish in their diet

Hideous designs, overpriced to the point of hilarity... Count me out!

But I'm assuming you're asking from a moral perspective... If a company manufacturers both vegan and non vegan jackets I would make no issue over anyone purchasing a vegan one.

I just did some research on this and apparently being vegan does not mean that you don't indulge in murdering bunnies and rats, a quote from this website

Quote:
It personally took me awhile to fully understand the difference between cruelty-free and vegan, I was using them interchangeably as I thought they meant the same thing. I’m hoping this post will clarify the main differences between the two and help you to make conscientious choices that are right for you. So simply put,
“cruelty-free” = no animal testing
“vegan” = no animal ingredients and by-products
Vegans only seem to care about products that are not tested on animals (like amazin) but don't care about the ingredients. So a product can be full of ingredients that have been extensively tested on animals as long as the final producer hasn't done it the vegans will accept it. This is a real eye opener to me tbh, I had no idea this is how it works.

Yak,

Amazin is a type of vegan whose main priority is being able to call himself a vegan.

My wife likes the "cruelty-free" label on eggs, but it seems like having your children stolen is at least somewhat cruel.
