The point is moot for you, though, because you only eat greens so you can blow steak out your ass more easily.
Come on, man. Greens and other lawn clippings are to ensure an adequate intake of oxalate. The insoluble fiber is just a bonus.

LOL,

Thanks for responding. A few follow up questions:

What preparation are you talking about specifically?
Do you think they wash them inadequately?
Do you think that they chop them up a long time before the put them out? If that's the fear, it sounds like that's more on the boss who is telling the teenager/convict what to do when.

If you're talking about an elite buffet, then I'd likely get backed off again for destroying their delicious fruits and veggies... not because it would be a loss leader for them, but because they would lack variety for the rest of the day.
No one is getting backed off a buffet for eating too many fresh veggies and fruits, so I think you're safe.

Yes, chopping up greens = nutrient loss, but time, storage, etc., are contributing factors as to how much, but you noobs with your mushy cooked veggies are taking the worst of it.
When you say nutrient loss, which ones specifically? If you're talking mostly about water-soluble vitamins, it doesn't seem like it should matter much. If you're going to consume so much that you're afraid of getting backed off, then even something like a 25% loss should be inconsequential.

- General (mis)handling.
- Yes.
- Yes, but that's largely irrelevant, and as you said, it's based on the protocols put in place by a particular restaurant.

Tokyo, 2019. Agree it was probably an outlier.

Enzymes. I like to put a feedbag on my face and munch down on loads of myrosinase from raw broccoli.

Ah, I thought that you were mentioning a poisonous plant substance* as a reason to eat raw broccoli to be funny.

*well, what the enzyme does, which is make several substances poisonous to animals.

I encountered one of those ridiculous vegans online today who chewed me out and called me a carnist for buying meat...

for my cat.

Guy legit made me want to go eat a steak just to spite him. I can't imagine the effect he has on people who still eat meat.

What did he think you should be feeding your cat?

VR that looks good, very nice.

If you feed you pet vegan, you shouldn't have a pet.

He thought I should give her his favorite vegan cat food which was obviously perfectly fine for obligate carnivores to eat because he fed it to his mother's cat for a year or two and the cat was "fine" and cats aren't dropping dead or the food wouldn't still be produced.

When I responded that humans also weren't instantly dropping dead from living with asbestos or drinking water with lead in it, but it didn't make it healthy, he retorted that the only thing that makes cats obligate carnivores is the length of their digestive systems.

Yeah, whatever. If I'm a hypocritical speciesist because I adopted an abandoned kitten and, having done so, accept responsibility to provide her an appropriate diet, so be it. I can live with that.

There's a difference between militancy and compassion. I choose my diet because I aspire to the latter, not the former.

ETA: Thank you 27! I am not great at food photography, but I thought this one was okay.

For everyone wondering how I can eat almost totally vegan, and still struggle with my weight:

Spoiler:

Beyond Burger with barbecue sauce, onions caramelized in bourbon, brown sugar, and vegan worcestershire sauce, topped with vegan blue cheese dressing, vegan bacon, and a whole wheat bun. With sweet potato and beet chips.

Also for all the people who tell me that they couldn't ever give up meat because they don't like salads.

Definitely very easy to still have a dogshit diet when veggy/vegan - beige diet of lots of processed carbs, and 'bad' fat. That certainly looks good though. I've been definitely meaning to try it at some point.

Speaking of Beyond stuff, my Dad sent me this a few days ago. He found it very amusing.

Picked these up today

So healthy!
Spoiler:
water, pea protein, expeller-pressed canola oil, refined coconut oil, rice protein, natural flavors, cocoa butter, mung bean protein, methylcellulose, potato starch, apple extract, pomegranate extract, salt, potassium chloride, vinegar, lemon juice concentrate, sunflower lecithin, beet juice extract.

Spoiler:
Methylcellulose is a bulk-forming laxative that increases the amount of water in your stools to help make them softer and easier to pass. Methylcellulose is used to treat constipation and to help maintain regular bowel movements. Methylcellulose may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
