Churn is a real issue today for satellite/cable operators and customer acquisitions costs are significant- I make a point of calling Time Warner every 6 months or so threatening to leave them for DirecTV and seeing what I can negotiate for.

I have no comment other than the following: Riverman is a douche and has owed me and avoided paying me a measly $80 for two years following a 2+2 fantasy football league. He initially stopped posting a while ago and I haven't been on in a while, I'm surprised to see him back. Cheers!

LBJ,

You should have been more on the ball and got his attention before he spent all his money on a new TV and delivery guy tips!

LBJ,

Clearly you should become a DirecTV guy. Dig two ditches and you've got your monies back.

i thought i heard this was some sort of scam where you get a ridiculous deal for the first 6 months and then they end up charging you a ****load over the next year and a half to make up for the "free" sunday ticket?

Not trying to stir the pot - but how do you forget about the $80? Anytime I've made a bet with someone on 2p2, if I lost, they hounded me like incessantly if I forgot to pay out. Based on how angry LBJ is, I'm sure he did as well.

C.When you valet your car, do you tip when you drop it off or only when you pick it up?
A.Tipping is not necessarily expected on take out but deff appreciated. 10-15%

B.Tipping is probably more expected. 10-15% is probably expected 15%+ is probably appreciated.

C.Different vallet companies work different ways im sure.

If its at an airport or somewhere it will be longer than a standard work shift tip both times.

dinner, drinks etc just on pick up.

i remember tipping somewhere between $20-40 to the time warner guy once because he came at like 8pm when i missed him earlier in the day and if he didn't, we would have had to wait like 4 days w/o cable.

something like riverman's spot, i probably would have just been really nice to him, offered him a drink or whatever. that said, i probably would have given him a twenty anyway.

also...lolriverman. thought all your debts were paid, bro?

I didn't want to start a new thread for this:

This is terrible. Christians are leaving fake $10 bills with scripture on one side and the bill on the other. They leave the counterfeit side up so the waiters think they tipped.

1. GO JESUS with the fake $10 bills

2. I tried to leave a DirecTV guy $100 before and he acted like I was trying to con him into taking it so I could say he stole it or something. He accepted nothing. Weird.

That's so awesome.

I always thought that if I ever owned a restaurant or bar I would put a condom machine in the men's restroom, but fill it with those little green bibles they pass out on the street.

I'm guessing they get offered a tip like 1% of the time, and it's probably never over $20. $100 seems suspiciously high, no? Maybe that was right after the Cable Guy came out and he thought you were bribing him?

Yeah I have no idea. If only I had a tipping thread to consult, I would have offered something that seemed reasonable.

Lol ****ing ******s. The clear intent of those bills is to leave them somewhere so someone finds them randomly. Not as a freakin tip.

They realize this too, but they rationalize they left a far better tip than $10.

I once bought a 4-pack of Guinness in cans (the one with the finger tab punched through the top). The cashier rang me up and was fiddling with the pack a bit much while he was putting it in the bag. When I opened up the four pack, there was a similar scripture sheet wedged between the cans. Self-righteous douchebag...

It's true. I have long since moved to Green Flash Brewing Double Stout. Never a scripture jammed into that pack.

If there's one thing I've learned in OOT, it's that some people will tip other people for ****ing anything.
