of course im speaking for myself. everybody who makes a "top 50 rappers" list is speaking for themselves.

if we're going to be talking about "who would get the majority of votes from 100 random people" then ok, weezy, dmx, and maybe even kurupt will come up. but i really find it hard to believe that chino xl gets a significant number of votes here. and im not saying chino is wack; i rocked the hell out of "here to save you all". after that tho, im not sure what else he's done that really stands up in a GOAT debate.

maybe its just me being a 35 y.o. from the east coast.

Just beyond absurd to me that a person having an opinion on top 50 rappers has never heard of big l. And you don't know if pharoahe deserves a spot but somehow lupe does? And chino xl? Lol.

my list is mainly ppl who been doing it 15-20 years, its so hard to add classic hip hop groups like, mobb deep, group home, epmd, big daddy , pete rock/cl ,etc because they didnt have longevity with great music, they made 1 maybe 2 classics and than that was it. My favortite era was definetly 92-96 tho hands down.

As for Nas, he made prolly best album of all time, the 2nd was decent but than he fell off imo.

whoa this thread is straight up laughable, can't believe it is still going. And cmon BK, what you mean Pete Rock and BDK didn't have longevity? They are both still in the game and killing it. And BTW Dilla was nice on the mic as well, listen to the SV ****.

While I am a big Dilla fan, anyone arguing he'd make this list is obviously letting their love for his selective talents overtake their rationale and/or knowledge.

While this has been, as one would expect, a trainwreck, the general laziness/lack of reading ability by the majority of posters far surpasses the general ignorance of the music, which even for this board is really really impressive.
