It's raining freezing rain as well. I think I'm going to confront her if she doesn't cash tip and then throw her food as far as I can, aiming for the roof

It may be more effective to calmly let her know that the majority of your income comes from tips and a 2.5% tip really makes it tough for you to make ends meet. If you just throw her **** she will look at you as the bad guy and crazy, but if you calmly make her feel embarrassed she would be more likely to change her ways.

She did not tip. But I was too much of a pussy to do anything. If I ever recognize her name as the person I'm delivering to again, I'm going to literally take a **** in her food

Delivery should really be a set amount. Is it really much harder to deliver 4 pizzas over 1? Do you think you would do better or worse if there was an auto $5 charge for delivery that goes directly to the driver no matter the amount ordered?

You should probably just get over it. Also hope no one knows who you are so you get fired

If I was that lady, I would never buy anything from your employer's restaurant ever again and I would recommend that my friends do the same.

yup I'd not send that. Better to confront the lady face to face than sending a passive aggressive message like that. Also you may be breaching some privacy data policy, with reason.

Good. I will refuse to deliver to her if she does order again. She doesn't get the service if she doesn't pay for it. I just risked my life for 2.5% tip. I texted her name to all my fellow drivers and told them to refuse her service as well

Wu: you seem terribly suited for any kind of service job. Your kind of attitude is one thing that dissuades a lot of people from tipping more.

Kof: sf servers get $10.55 minimum wage plus tips (I believe SF is on the higher end for avg tip %) plus mandatory health care benefits! Mid-to-high end server jobs are a pretty sweet gig here.

Wu,

How much does your service charge for delivery? How much do they pay you?

Well, I guess we can just text her the link to the relevant posts.

She tipped $2. Is she old? Back in the day, it was completely standard to tip a buck or two on an order regardless of the amount. Now a guy wants 20% of the bill because he's carrying a larger bag (unless that 20% comes to $2, then he wants $5).

Delivery doesn't sound right for you. You're going to get stiffed, and ****ting in people's food is for ******s. Also, lol at tipping in advance. That just goes to show you how off the tipping customs are.

Hopefully she'll talk to the owner, because I'm guessing he wouldn't approve of it nor the posting a customer's phone number.

Wu,

I'm pretty confident you'll end up getting fired from this gig when someone texts her and either links here or sends her your comments.

Yeah, right. Drivers control a business...

How old are you? You have absolutely no idea of what being professional is about. Even though you are a driver, the owner of the establishment expects you to conduct yourself in such a way that reflects well on the business.

Also, if she contacts the owner and you get canned, don't expect the manager to say he told you it was okay to send the text. He'll deny it and say you misinterpreted him.

Yeah, California is one of the states that are doing things right and paying servers an alright starting wage. Are restaurants in San Francisco more expensive than other major cities where they are able to pay employees $2 an hour? Not talking about the fancy restaurants because prices there can be based on reputation etc Talking more like mom and pop type restaurants.

Hopefully not. I do regret including her number though. In fact, could a mod please remove that image? She probably doesn't deserved to have that posted here

Pretty pissed off right afterwards

Not sure if you were referencing my post or not, but I'm not denying that servers can make good wages in the $2 per hour states as well. I'm just saying that in California at least the restaurants are paying their employees a reasonable wage and tips can be used for what they were originally intended for (rewarding good service) rather than relied upon by servers to make a decent living.

Wu unless youre buying a muffin basket for good tippers you cant really flip out on bad ones. Part of the variance of the job. You seem like a real POG, hope you get fired soon.

I don't understand how you can go from claiming to have a cushy gig and that delivery drivers at your job make 1k plus per week to bitching about the odd low tip(where you still made 7 bucks). Even if this was the only delivery on this run you're still doing pretty well hourly

After reading posts from pieces of **** like Wu plus realizing in Minnesota servers get actual minimum wage plus tips I have decided to adjust my tips significantly downward.

if her order was say, $15 would you get mad over a $2 tip?

bc it seems like to me, whether she ordered $80 worth of stuff or $15 or $50, it shouldn't matter to you because an extra bags is going to cost you a penny or two from the extra weight driving there at MOST.

I realize there are counters to that argument, but $80 or $10 worth of good shouldn't make much difference in tip size all things being equal and in a perfect world.

I suppose I'm curious as to either why you were pissy about $2 or if you agree order size shouldn't mean much in regards to tip siE..
