You must be thinking of someone else. The only situation I can think of where I would tip significantly less than others is a bad beat jackpot. If I ever win one, I'll be tipping some multiple of what the dealer would have made during the time lost due to the payout process, depending on how good I think the dealer is. That's WAY under what most people would tip, but it's what I'd feel good about tipping. Other than that, I'm a pretty standard tipper.

Even if I were a cheapskate/stiff though, I still have no idea how that connects with whether or not a server would get fired for demanding minimum wage. (In case you're thinking otherwise, I think that people should get what they bargain for, which in this instance would be at least minimum wage.) A server would have no problem getting whatever he/she is due via litigation if he/she isn't getting paid. There's even been a thread on it in OOT.
