I'm with ya'. I'm a grammar, diction, and usage nit so all such errors bother me, but this one does so much more than most. For some reason it says to me "I'm ignorant and fine with that — kinda proud of it actually."
In part this is because the latter usually appears in the phrasing "If I would of..." (or similar), which compounds the maddening "I'm stupid" error with another one. (Yes, I realize ignorance ≠ stupidity; users of this phrase tend to be both.)
