Things that shouldn't piss you off, but do. Things that shouldn't piss you off, but do.

Here's something I heard that sounds reasonable to me:

If you don't have a healthy diet, like with vegetables, vitamins and such, you stay hungry, even when you've had a bunch of calories, because you still need more nutrition.

Yeah the more I think about this. I'd rather bet someone $5k I can lose X lbs.

My incentives are all ****ed up on this deal. And if I win, even though I know El D trusts me - some part of him would be suspicious I ate more than I put down - which is understandable.

As much as fat logic pisses me off, can we move this discussion of suzzers amazing physics defying body to the fat people hate thread?

I take a ****ton of multivitamins and eat vegetables (salad, slaw, broccoli, snap peas, stuff like that) with my dinner meal.

Suzzer,

Idgaf, I'll bet before taxes, after taxes, or a multiple of your salary.

You'll do what you wrote - eat 1200 cals/day and maintain 260 (you're 250 now right, I'll toss in that bonus?) or 1800 cals/day and exercise daily (we'll obv define that) and maintain 270 (again, if you're 250 now we can make that work w reasonable exercise amt).

You'd spend the day working in my office and I'd provide housing for you. You wouldn't be able to go out alone, but you could have visitors/gf/etc.

I'd provide all your food, of whatever nature you think is most advantageous to you. If you want 1200 cals of potato chips or 1200 cals of steak, fine, whatever gives you the best chance to win.

If you want to do $5k, we'd do it 1:1 where I'd procure the food as per your instructions, but monitoring protocols would be far less strict and far more honor-based.

Again, I can't lose.

Problem,

Great idea - Alobar can you move this derail to either the fatty or prop bet thread? Thanks!

Considering suzzer is wrong about many things (especially shoe choices), I have full confidence he has been incorrectly logging his food.

I should also mention that based off your macros for that day, your calories are off by 150 on MFP. As in it is closer to 1200 than 1000.

I don't believe studies have been very good for multi-vitamins vs. vitamins in food, but that was more of a general thought than specific advice for you.

If I were to give specific advice based on my recent heroic loss of 20lbs, it's:

Don't starve, but embrace being mildly hungry

Never be over full

Drink a lot, but drink no calories

Have a low calorie filler often - celery or something

Delay meals, just like an extra 45 minutes.

And then the usual, skinless chicken breast kind of stuff, little or no dressings or sauces

Lol I'd have to quit my job. Also looking back on my myfitnesspals from the first half of the year - it was a lot closer to 1500 average than 1200 average and I fully agree that probably didn't include everything or completely accurate counts. So yeah 1200 was way off, I was wrong.

Anyway like I said I want to be aligned with my own interests on this thing. And I'd can't do 1200 or I'd 100% blow the first long term relationship I've had in 2 decades.

So I'd do a $100-500 bet on a thread in H&F at 1800 calories that I would/wouldn't lose X lbs. over 3 months. That will be enough to keep it interesting but not enough that I'd be tempted to lay around all day or chug olive oil as my calories or something.

I'll enter everything I eat in myfitnesspal and post it in the thread. The thread can grill me about portion sizes and if I forgot anything. I think you know me well enough to know I wouldn't lie.

Suzzer,

As I wrote above, I wouldn't be worried much up to like $5k. For $500 we can easily put something in place.

Yeah let's just end the derail now and start up a prop bet thread later. If we excise this into H&F I'm going to have to battle royal like 100 of them at once. Aint nobody got time for that.

Last fatty post from me.

People who "eat whatever they want" have never hung out with a fat dude. They eat like 5 slices of pizzas every now and then and think they are pigging out.

A fat person would finish the whole thing, chicken wings, a half gallon of soda and dessert for about an extra 2000 calories.

Some people may see me gorge on food and think i eat whatever i want. I weight under 140, believe me, i dont eat much at all compared to a normal person, so theres a reason im thin. But people will be confused if they saw me eat 5 pieces of pizza at your birthday party.

This. Im thin, I eat everything I want but you only really find out how little it is that you really want when you hang out with legit big/fat dudes. They want more.

This, no way suzzer's story is correct (barring some medical condition).

Came here to post this. This is the YTF bizzaro world all over again with the added bonus suzzer is calling actual science "bro science".

not a complete scam, but a lot less necessary than most people in, say, the US think they are.

I don't eat particularly well, so I take 1/3rd of a server of a multi each day. Helps bridge the gap for certain vitamins/minerals for me.

I really know nothing about vitamins. How can swallowing a pill containing so many different vitamins and iron and zinc and riboflavin and all that be a scam?

Suzzer,

There are studies that show variability in BMR between people when energy expenditure is controlled for, but it amounts to like 100 or 200 calories per day.

You're talking about eating ~ 1200 below BMR daily (which obviously is not accounting for any other energy expenditure. I assume you at least walk around for work and stuff like that.)

Even taking into account the differences in BMR, your calorie counting has to be off by a wide margin.

I was told the body can't absorb them in that form. . That getting them from food is infinity better

you were told by an idiot unaware of making an appeal to nature fallacy

also,

can someone provide a link to the followup of suzzer's weight loss betting? Would be interested in cheering him on
