It's fair to say that losing weight is harder for some than it is for others, but no matter how low your metabolism drops, your body can't 'make' energy. Energy (what you use or store) can only come from what you put in your mouth.
If you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose weight over time. I don't care who you are.
