They're one of those bands like phish that are technically talented, but I can't really listen to them. Dream Theater also. Though that's because math rock is ****ing boring.

I have some friends who go to Oktoberfest in Munich every year. They get all dressed up in over-the-top lederhosen, post pics from a brightly lit beer hall and brag about stuff like sneaking into the best tent going that wants $200 at the door. I've noticed in the pics this year that seem to be some of the few even wearing lederhosen.

I don't get it. Even if they're getting laid right and left, I would be completely useless in the sack with a couple gallons of beer in me - sweaty, bloated, flatulent and lucky if I'm not pushing rope. I can definitely see wanting to check it out once - but I just can't imagine what would pull them back every year. You can drink copious amounts of beer and sing songs in about 2000 bars in NYC.

Dave Matthews is terrible. Nice guy though. Bought me a drink once. I had no idea who he was, which he seemed to find amusing.

I just got back from Oktoberfest. I was apprehensive, because I'm not into crowds and drunk idiots are annoying. But it was legitimately really good fun. It's a bit hard to describe, but the atmosphere is just 100% festive, good times. And suzzer, TONS of people in lederhosen/dirndl. Overall very convivial. I did not stay into the evening, so maybe things turn in to a ****show as the tents get close to closing (at 11:30PM if I remember right).

EDIT: Every year sounds a bit nuts, but I'd have no hesitation going back next year
