It's common not to use the number 13. You don't see many buildings with 13 floors etc, also hotel rooms with a room 13 and so on.

it puts me on life tilt that my mom watches shows in standard definition when we have the HD channel of whatever she is watching. ffs when you go to the menu there is a button that says "watch in HD"

On a similar note, my mom DVRs a million shows that are already available free on demand. Every few weeks I have to explain to her how to delete things she's recorded and how to watch something on demand. She never learns.

It's quicker/easier to queue up something from recorded TV than from On Demand. At least on my system.

That would only be a problem if you can't record stuff b/c you're too full.

This accounts for probably a total of 5 minutes combined across my life, but I noticed it this past week and it pisses me off:

So I had to go home to be with a sick relative and as a result I ended up driving through some really rural parts of Arkansas and Texas. Along the way I would stop at gas stations and they almost all had really old gas pumps and I noticed that the old pumps don't start slowing down the gas they are outputting until the final $0.25 or so of the dollar amount I pre-purchased. However, when I would stop at gas stations with newer models of gas pumps they always start slowing down at the final dollar (so like the first $29 dollars of gas pumps at regular speed but from $29.01 to $30.00 it is just a trickle and seemingly takes forever). While I'm sure that there is some reason for this it gives the impression that gas pump technology has regressed and that pisses me off.

YES. Anytime I am watching some sporting event with my parents I change it to HD but they seem to not care at all when they watch something themselves..whatev

diddy, that has pissed me off for the last 10 years or so that I started noticing it become more common. I attribute it to the station banking on people being impatient and just leaving. There may be a "reason" for it but **** all that noise, I just assume they're trying to rip us off so I stay and pump it all out of spite while shaking my fist toward the cashier.

i doubt it's based on the dollar amount, but if it is, it makes sense. when those machines were made, 25c prob bought you more gas than a dollar does today.
