if you want to come across as an idiot, that's fine. it's okay with me when people i'm talking to on aim use "u" or "prolly" or whatever else because (a) they are my friends and i know they're not stupid, and (b) aim is a medium suited for typing as quickly as possible.
a message board is not a place where you need to type as quickly as possible, and ensuring that your message is properly understood is more important.
plus, as most people don't know each other on the internet, if i see someone using the wrong your/you're, etc, i'm going to assume they're not as smart as someone else and their opinion might not carry as much weight.

because ainec means "and it's not even close" and you save quite a few characters by going with the abbreviation. "your" does not mean "you're", so you can't shorten "you're" by writing "your" (which may make the sentence say something else entirely, or at least muddles its meaning). saving one character is not worth making your message more difficult to understand.
