The only problem with PreCheck is that they are aggressively signing up more people. I like the lines nice and short.

Global Entry is awesome also - no customs, no immigration.

Life tip: you can request a "random" screening from an agent a lot of the times. I've tried 3 times and twice it has worked. Heard from a friend who says he gets like 75% success rate.

What's the benefit of that? The one time I was called for a random screening it was coming back from Costa Rica and we had already been thru normal screening. I got called up at the gate and they went thru all my stuff and patted me down and then I had to get on the plane. They checked everyone pretty much the same way behind me so it took forever to load the plane and I had to sit in the hot cabin for a long time. It sucked.

It's not really a random screening it's like those screenings for people who can't go through the machine for whatever reason.

The value is you can bypass the line. I only do it when I'm traveling alone and I carry light so it's super efficient.

I just ask if I can volunteer for a private screening.

How do you ask? Like in Vegas there's a super long line then you get to the agents. By the time you're up there it's pretty much over. I can't think of how you'd ask before spending all tat time in the line already.

You can always request a private screening with pat down instead of going through the machines.

If you request that instead of "volunteering" or however you're asking, they'll do that for you every time.

It ****ing drives me nuts how the iPhone "Recents" and "Voicemail" lists look exactly the same. I am always looking at one thinking I'm looking at the other. At least 100 times I've accidentally called someone when I thought I was clicking to listen to their voicemail.

At least make them a different color or something.

Ya this is what I'm talking about. They will do it every time when t comes your turn but they will some will let you skip if the people who do the private screening are not currently doig anything and they are not in a bad mood.
