Remember when they were considering actually teaching ebonics as required course work in schools in places like Los Angeles? It was spun as part of "history" that needed to be passed on or some ****.

I think that was news in the mid 90's.

Depends on the card rate, but you can set up autopayment so this doesn't occur.

You also get a statement of the month's charges and have a month to pay that off with no penalty, so it's really longer than a month.

Depends on your card, yea, but you could just be a responsible adult and not pay it late in order to reap the benefits of the card. Autopay, calendar/smartphone recurring reminder, etc. if you think you might forget.

Extremely simple concept.

A girl at my work always says I,m gonna have this for my breafest this morning, leaving out the "k" sound in her speech. She also says "I'm blivious to that" meaning oblivious of course. She tells me that's the way people talk in Philly where she is from. This sets me off for some strange reason..

Isn't the reason why credit cards offer free money that enough people **** up that its still profitable?

I mean, if I stand to earn $1k / year with limited risk (meaning penalty for a late payment on a few grand one month) and time/stress investment per month then it's worth it.

Credit cards don't just make money off only those who carry balances. The deals are probably a lot sweeter because of that but they make money purely from people swiping.

The unprofitable people for credit cards are those who put a high % of their spend in categories that are 3%+ or only use it to clear the sign up bonus.

visa and mastercard get around 2% of the transaction from the merchant for every purchase

but yes they make a ton of money off interest from stupid people ****ing up and that is our gain. the world was made so smart people can take money from stupid people.

Yup, that's why most gas stations charge a few cents more for credit vs cash. A few cents is usually the station owner's entire profit margin, so when card use became more common they couldn't afford to eat it any longer.

I absolutely hate commercials where people are supposed to be eating, especially the ones for fast food places. First off, nobody eats like that. Nobody takes a bite of something all neatly and nods their head over and over like, "OMG SO GOOD, YEAH!"

Also the "real" ones where they're like, "WOULD YOU BELIEVE YOU COULD BUY SOMETHING LIKE THIS FROM MCDONALDS?" and they're like, "LOL not in a million years, obviously not, no way!" Yeah, well guess what, this is actually the new BACON MELTED SWISS **** BURGER FROM MCDONALDS.

They drive me nuts.
