I would agree if my house wouldn't have a huge turnaround in things like glasses and a newer/cleaner kitchen. But yeah, it should piss me off way less than it does.

Re: units of temperature, dunno if it's a thing outside of UK, but in our weather forecasts they'll always use °C for cold weather and °F when it's hot. Used to it now but always thought it weird that they don't just use one unit. But saying that, we mix up imperial and metric all the time, you can buy milk in pints or litres, we use metres but road signs are marked in miles. Petrol/gas is sold by the litre but the cars economy is described as miles per gallon.

And re: 24hr clocks, it pissed me off that the tv show 24 never used one. Would tilt me no end when I'd see 03:30 and it's the afternoon. In fact, having been used to using 24 hour clocks for so long it pisses me off when I see any digital one not using it, analogue clocks are fine obv.

Argh, one of my pet peeves! Can't you people smell that horrible dusty smell that glasses get if you store them face down? I've been ranting about this my whole life.

You think more dust gets into glasses face down then face up?

How much dust do you guys have circulating inside your cupboards that you need to keep your glasses turned down? I never need to dust the inside of my cupboards. If you're leaving cups sitting in the open for weeks at a time, then yeah, turn them upside down.

Tyler, perhaps you mean "musty." You know how confused Custer gets if people don't use precise language.

No, I think gregorio is right, I guess I meant musty. And a speck of dust never touched my parent's house or car ever. (We still talk about that today, five kids, multiple dogs and cats and I really never saw a speck of dust even once!)

A week after my sister got one of their cars it looked normally dirty and I still tease her about it.

It still smells like dust to me though and it makes me crazy. (Maybe these things are all related, lol.)

Lol Gregorio. You are right I get confused when someone says one thing but means something completely different.

Anyways you guys have either dirty cabinets or an inefficient dishwasher(or you take them out I the dishwasher too soon after completion).

Tyler it sounds like you are not drying your glasses adequately and the condensation just stays in your glass.

But from a biological perspective they will remain more clean(assuming they are dried adequately and on a clean surface) face down.

There are also stability benefits due to the face the mouth of a glass tends to be wider then the base mean it won't tip as easily.

This is probably true, but I could never in a million years place them face down on a non-rack surface. That would bother so much that I would think about it until I switched them over, lol.

Ya but he's a mental health worker so he has direct access to the mentally damaged girls with daddy issues. I have to do guesswork. It really cuts into my creeping efficency.

By placing your glasses upside down, you expose the rim of the glass to any dust that's accumulated on the surface of the shelf, which is going to be more dust than can accumulate inside the glass, unless you are dusting your shelves as often as you are washing the glasses.

Top is how my finger looks after running it along the inside of a glass that was face up; bottom is how my finger looks after running it along the top of the shelf that glass is sitting on. Haven't dusted that shelf since I moved in 3 months ago. The glass has been sitting on the shelf since it was last washed about 2 months ago.

The amount of dust on the rim of a face-down glass would be insignificant, but the face-up glass is probably negligibly cleaner.

That post is weird seeing as your last post was about questioning how much dust someone has circulating their cabinets.

Also if you consume liquid out of any glass that has been sitting in any position for 2 months your biggest problem isn't orientation.

Now I only we could see bug trails and waste on your finger!

Why is that weird? I questioned how much dust there is circulating inside a cabinet, and then in the interest of science I tested it and posted the results.

If you're concerned about the amount of bug trails and waste you consume drinking from a glass that's been sitting in a cupboard for 2 months, than that isn't your biggest problem.

I'm still trying to figure out which finger would be better for diddling a teen if I was a hebeaphile or herbivore or whatever.

I would bet serious money that DiB is closer to this(in every regard) than me. Although I could imagine him being super skinny like some e-gamer.
