This is what was said last time around and what made me less pissed off.

Yeah, that's really dumb.

As soon as you're driving and are at your safe following distance, you're at the exact same point you would have been.

My ex-girlfriend drilled a line of cars and knocked them all into each other. She was liable for all the damage.

Driver response to green light takes too long as it is.

That's like asking how adding extra meat to a sandwich increases the overall weight.

Rock & roll.

If everyone left a little more space all cars would be able to accelerate and get up to the desired speed faster. When everyone is bumper to bumper it takes longer for everyone to get moving comfortably so it actually would make the commute longer to pull up as far as you can imo.

I do this for the reasons mentioned re: rear ending/getting around stopped cars. I also do it in bad areas where the chance I need to have an escape path is greater. You're totally screwed if you get boxed in and someone decides to car jack you.

Not even remotely close.

That's the worst analogy I've heard in quite some time.

The closer I am to the car in front if me, the faster I'll be able to resound to the light changing. Thanks, got it.

Idiot drivers don't pull up and I can't get to my turn lane before the turn arrow goes red wasting a perfectly good green arrow I can't use.

Idiot drivers don't pull up at the next light so there is no room for me to proceed through the intersection I'm at resulting in me waiting through one more light cycle.

People who think the most trivial things make a difference. If you suck at driving nothing is going to help.

Also, people who drive 75k+ vehicles who have the most rudimentary driving skills

I can't see how these 2 things are anything like each other.

I think he's saying that light only travels at 3 x 10^8 m/s so if you pull up closer you'll see when the light turns green faster and thus get moving faster.

And also that meat is made of matter so adding more to a sandwich will make that sandwich weigh more in any gravitational environment.

There's a woman who is a somewhat regular at my local card room who is chronically sick/uses a wheelchair/is on dialysis, etc. I see her at another table the other day wearing a surgical mask over her mouth but under her nose. Was trying to figure out if I should be pissed or not. I doubt she was a 100% mouth-breather and I couldn't figure out if she was trying to protect herself from germs, protect us from her germs, or most likely accomplishing nothing. I gave her a C- for effort.

She no doubt was attempting to protect herself. If you are on dialysis you are pretty much near death. Any thing , even a cold could push you over the edge.

As far as the driving thing goes, having less meat on your sandwich means you will finish it faster and be able to respond to the light sooner.

As a bus driver I was taught that you should be able to see the rear tires of the vehicle in front of you so you could get around it if the meat fell out of their sandwich.

All of this is why I wrap my sandwich in a napkin while EWD.

Not a chance in hell. My buddy stooped at a wawa and got smashed into their generator and the person that him was obviously held responsible for the damage to the generator.

Even if you drove 10 cars a day, it would take you over 20 years to drive 75k+ vehicles.

Then he should have written that.

edit: although most every car I've ever seen is worth more than 75000¢, so I don't see the point
