Yeah, I'd say 1/3 to 1/4 sounds about right. When they are too close or don't pay attention and I go to back up and pull a little past the open spot, people have tried to sneak there car in the space in that .5 sec before I get into reverse. or they almost rear end me thinking I'm leaving and not about to back In.

Those odds are way too high for me to consider trying to back in w/ cars behind me, it would tilt me to no end every time it would happen.

If it's a particularly busy/full lot where if you lose the space due to the idiot/******* behind you, do you risk it or just go in front first in that instance?

In the morning on my way to work, it doesn't really bother me when there's a slow car in the left lane. We've been through that. There's usually another lane for me to get by, so that's not that irritating.

It bothers me that I can pick the slow driver out of a line up before I can even see her.

I often sit in my car to eat lunch or work on stuff for 30+ minutes, then back out of the spot. I aways stress a bit that maybe one day a baby or small child will crawl behind my car. It bothers me enough that sometimes I'll get out and look before I leave, but not often.
