Because they are sitting in your line of sight. It is an aggressive move. I don't like to have to avert my gaze from some jackass that aggressively sits in my line of sight when there are so many other seating options available. Very rude and annoying!

By the way, I think it has nothing to do with self confidence. It is annoying and it SHOULD piss you off. People that do this are oblivious selfish *******s. I ALWAYS move when this happens. I'd rather stare at a wall than at some annoying ******* chomping away.

Thought: Would the seat next to B-2 be considered 'in your line of sight'?

Ancillary thought: Also, taking a seat like A-1 in the picture is something my dad would do because he had a wall behind him and, well, could see the whole room. So it seems like an odd complaint to say 'I'm in the corner where I can see everyone but I don't want to look at anyone'. Especially when you could've sat across from A-1 and faced out from the beginning and never had that problem.

Exactly.

Some people are confrontational. Especially in a situation like a FF place, they may be sizing you up to approach you for money.

Don't you think it's at least a touch awkward?
Sure. I'll agree that it could be awkward, but it is situational. If some guy sits in B2 and is looking out the window and checking his ipad/iphone, etc and seems like a normal guy, then no sweat. If he sits there and stares holes in your forehead then, yeah, that is weird.

Here is the other part though. Let's say a family of four with two little brats is coming next. Then you and the guy in B2 both win. He has ensured they are not at a table next to you, and now he doesn't have to face a whole family.

Anyway, it is situational. If a hot girl sits in B2 I am guessing your reaction is different.

joe rogan's forum doesn't have that button... that pisses me off.
Your revelation of that button's existence is almost as mindblowing to me as it was when I recently learned that I've been peeling a banana all wrong. Here I was just using scroll-to-top all this time.

And hitting the back button can be useful if you don't finish reading a page and want to get back to it later.

Seat next to B-2 is not optimal as it's like the 2nd or 3rd worst choice in the restaurant. But it's far better than B-2.

Totally agree that I have to accept part of the blame. That's why I said I always regret not picking A-3 to begin with.

Ahh I knew we could find some common ground - I agree. Unfortunately the next time it happens to me will probably be the first time.

Turn on your charm as she is a choosing her seat, and tell her that you saved her a chair...... heck...might work...

All of this hype about the Beatles appearing on Ed Sullivan 50 years ago today. I chose to go bowling with my parents that night. Stop reminding me I missed it.

Or she declines the offers, sits in B2 and Joe literally dies of awkwardness.

Is there 4 seats? Why is B-2 not B-3?

He only numbered those 3 seats as reference for his post. They weren't in any particular order.

I'd make a spot at A3.5 for pure troll factor

If you've seen Eurotrip, the train scene with Fred Armisen for reference.

When I come home from woke and my GF is watching TV on the non-HD channels.

FFS, we're paying extra money for HD, we should probably use it.

Obv. The worst is her reasoning. "I can never find the channel I'm looking for"

I kind of understand that part. I couldn't tell you what most of the channels are in HD, whereas I still remember a lot of the non-HD channels. However, I've shown her 1,000 times that if your watching a non-HD channel, all you have to do if hit 'Info' and it will show the episode info and there will be a button already highlighted that says "Watch in HD" and it will take you to the HD channel. Easy game.

But no

every ****ing time.

You guys don't have your own Favorites list set up? I think pretty much every cable/satellite provider has that now. You basically choose which channels you want to show up in the guide when browsing, so you can put all of your favorite channels in your list and she can put her favorites in hers. No need to wade through 700 channels anymore.

So when setting those up, just choose the HD version of that channel. EZ Game.

Then when viewing the guide, it's usually one button to cycle through the available lists (on Comcast, it's Favorite, on Dish you keep hitting Guide). Really easy.

The Winter Olympics (and I guess some of the Summer Olympics)

I find every event I see ridiculous. I believe the Olympics should be based around pushing the boundaries of what human body is capable of (e.g. being the fastest person on the planet). Things like curling or figure skating... wtf? I'm also not a big fan events where you can't compare WRs, mainly team events but also skiing, luge, etc.

None of this should piss me off as when it's on TV I get completely hooked and really into it, regardless of the event, who's playing, or how stupid I think it is.

Last edited by thethethe; 02-11-2014 at 07:04 AM. Reason: watching the curling right now...

my roomate (guy) does this too. its annoying when its a channel like Fox 5 and hes on '5' and all the channels in HD are in the same order just starting at 500 instead of 0. Its not difficult to remember '505'.

I can see the difference I just don't care enough to look for the channel if I'm already watching something.

When bluray came out the local walmart had a display with half the screen in dvd quality and the other half bluray. Of course this was being shown on a cheap non-HD TV.

I still get pissed thinking about how walmart duped me like that.
