when a car slows down for me to walk in front of them, when if they had just gone the normal speed I would've walked behind them with no change in pace.

Maybe one time out of 10 I appreciate when a car stops to let me cross in front of it. The other nine times, I wish they would go first to completely remove themselves from my calculation of whether I’ll survive crossing the street.

It's when they slow down and cause a mini jam behind them. Then all the other cars seem to think it's somehow your fault.

I'm probably just over-thinking.

It's worse because I always feel like I have to give the little wave and break into that really light jog that shows I'm also trying to be nice. Just let me trudge across the street at my own pace after you pass.

Another annoying car thing is that way too many drivers in the US don't know how to pass a cyclist.

This is tilting.

In my neighborhood there are a couple streets where if you're going north/south you have a stop sign. If you're going east/west you don't.

So I'll be stopped at a stop sign since someone going east/west is approaching the intersection. Then they stop and wave at me to go. Just ****ing go you don't have to stop!

A couple trucks in my neighborhood.

One is a pickup for a lawn service. Among the services listed on the side of the truck are "Fall Aertion" and "Spring Aertion".

The other is a flatbed towing pickup. Inscribed on he door is "White Lighting." Maybe that's really what was meant, but somehow I doubt it.

Xcel cuts power this morning to replace a utility pole in the neighborhood around 8:45 am with no notice. Get an email at 9:30 am stating power getting restored at 11:15 am then an update at 9:41 am that it will be 3:45 pm. No bid deal, cooler today that it's been and I have work to do without internet.

Get updated email at 1:29 pm that power will be restored at 5:15. Ugh. Power is restored at 1:48 pm.

It's like they have an app that randomly extends the estimated time the power is out and when they restore they're like, "Great news! We got power restored more quickly than we thought!"

given how many people genuinely experience concerts as a tripod for their phone camera, it actually makes sense because that's their perspective

but i agree, it's absurdly stupid - if hitler went after these people instead then everyone would have joined the axis

All of them take performance-enhancing drugs. So the Tour de France wins. At least with PEDs in general, both legal and illegal. No idea if we just talk illegal.

yeah that's why i think people like bonds should be in the hall of fame

they act like he was the only one on roids, no, the majority of the league were on roids

journeymen relievers were on it

and then going back further - for most of baseball's history there has been some sort of PED was that was commonly used by the league - for decades they all took amphetamines before playing

i think it was in ball 4, where it was mentioned that pitchers would get angry with any hitters who refused to take their greenies before the game when they pitched
