I picked up a tube of Colgate orignal mint toothpaste from a gas station. It is ****ing wintergreen flavor. ****ing disgusting. Who are the ad wizards who came up with calling that original or think people want that disgusting flavor?

I sometimes cut off the top half of a bag of chips. My cut is usually well above the chip line so it isn’t like they are going to fall out and it gives me plenty of room to roll the bag down a bit and put a chip clip on the bag to save the remaining chips for next time. This is mainly done to give me easier access to the chips and it allows me to see the chips better if I want to cherry-pick the biggest chip if I’m dipping them in something.

the key to opening bag is to start at the top on the corner and then once you've proceed far enough you then angle is slightly upward as you finish, this prevents the bag from degrading where it continues to self open with each interaction

What is this insanity? You open the bag by pulling apart the seal at the top. Tearing off a corner is for savages.

I make a point to open all of our bagged stuff (chips, cereal, etc.) because my gf will absolutely MANGLE opening anything. I've demonstrated the proper method several times, but she simply doesn't mind either way.

Her free spirit is both inspiring and infuriating.

The real crime is chip manufacturers perpetrating a fraud on us all with puffed up packages that are only half full in the name of protecting the chip. You don’t need that much nitrogen and extra space.

My wife almost always starts by pulling the bag apart a la Didace, but then she passive-aggressively only pulls it apart enough for her hand to get in the bag and back out with a few chips. The bag is usually folded in a haphazard manner and clipped a couple of times before I get around to seeing and and wanting a little of the contents. After I unclip it, find the top half of the bag crinkled beyond recognition, and then discover only half the top is pulled apart, I am in a full blown rage.

we scissor every single bag of chips/crisps in our house (but not in the lesbian way).
creating imperfect lines of influence in the structure of the bag via tearing or weird angles is what leads to the bag being prone to additional tears as you access the chips.
scissors create a nice clean line across the top that open the bag but don't encourage additional material disruption
