Not sure if I should be pissed off.

I was at the grocery store yesterday with my toddler and was loading groceries on the surface to get scanned. After I had loaded ~70% of my stuff, some elderly man interrupted me while I was talking to my kid and asked if he could go in front of me because he had 3 items "and was paying cash".

I (clearly annoyed at the request) said "sure, I guess", and he went around me.

I don't know why this tilted me as much as it did.
