When you're actually out on the water though, the wind can change every few minutes in ways the forecast won't show you. Everytime a cloud is moving in front of or out of the sun's way, the wind picks up. Same thing tends to happen as the sun sets behind mountains. Out paddling this stuff makes a big difference.

Also, people who like to get out in nature often end up in places without cell service. You can be just a 10 kms from some cities and be out of cell range if there's mountains. In places like the big national parks in canada (think Banff and Jasper) where I spent 3 months paddling and hiking last summer, cell service is mostly nonexistent. So old school look at the sky type stuff is very relevant. I'm going on a big trip in Northern BC and possibly the Yukon this summer, and again, cell service isn't the norm.

ive never clapped to music and cant think of any reason to. so what is wrong with me or wrong with those that do.

matter of fact ive only ever clapped when had to in an audience where social pressure kind of forced it.

On topic, my failing memory. I knew I knew the song, just not the name of it, or the singer. It would piss me off, but I sometimes forget.

Same on Isbell and DBT, and both put on awesome in-person shows as well.

I can top you guys. I love Isbell and his previous incarnation with DBT. Have seen him perform a couple of times in person. I even have this particular track on my lengthy playlist that I having going for hours nearly every ****ing day. And I completely missed the reference--even after Black Aces posted the YT clip. Not a memory loss problem (this time), but just never caught those lines in the song. *sigh*

Video below is one of my favorite moments with an artist deciding he isn’t putting up with the 1 and 3 nonsense and decides to correct them. That moment is at 4:52

The video is fascinating for other reasons, especially if you are into a band’s dynamics. If Albert had been armed, he would have shot and killed the drummer right on stage. I’m certain that was the drummer’s last gig with Albert.

He yells at the drummer in the very beginning, stops to engage the audience, to regroup. At first, I thought it was simply a tempo issue. But if you watch the whole video you see that Albert keeps scowling at the drummer, it is clear something else is going on.

1:52 is where I predict the gun would have come out.

Albert wants swung 16th notes on the hi-hat. But the drummer is straight screwing with him. If you listen closely, he is playing 16th notes during the vocal line and a triplet feel in between. Albert gets pissed again and the drummer switches next time through. Anyway, absolutely a blast to watch.

The footage is from part of a documentary and there is a short poorly timed interview with Albert during the solo.

Ok, sorry, geeked out a bit. And just stop the clapping on 1 and 3 stuff.
