Id heard of that ever since I was a child and to my recollection I still haven't encountered one. Never been to the east coast if that makes a difference.

I see this all the time. In fact, in U.S. hotels (vs. office buildings) I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a 13th floor. Of course, the morons on the “14th” floor are just kidding themselves.

btw, in many Asian countries (Korea, for example), it's the 4th floor that is missing. Something to do with a tie-in between 4 and death, iirc.

At most US casinos where I have stayed there is no 4th or 13th floor.

I've never noticed this, but it makes sense considering the fact that Asians contribute heavily to the bottom line of many casinos.

The fact that we're giving into such idiotic superstition and building our hospitals and hotels without 13th floors.

In new developments 8, 88, 80, X88 always sell out first and often at a premium. I know people that have changed their street address from 4 and gotten $20k+ higher offers on their house.

What are the grounds for your objection?

Laura ****ing Linney and any movie or series purporting that she is, or ever was, attractive or desirable in any way, shape, or form.

I just watched the first two seasons of Ozark. It's a poor man's Breaking Bad and my like of Jason Bateman stood no chance against my dislike of Linney.

It pisses me off when old people buy 2 half gallons of the same type of milk instead of just buying a full gallon like normal people.

That's a good one, because youngsters don't understand one from the front and then the back gives you two different expiration dates and less spoilage.

Why is that better than 2 bottles from the back, both with later expiration dates?

you don't contribute to waste and defeat the purpose.

Why not just grab one gallon with the later date? It's not like the milk is sealed for freshness in those plastic jugs.

One reason for two half-gallons - a full gallon doesn't fit in the door of your fridge.

If I still drank milk, it would be because I drink directly out of one jug. The other jug is for people who don't want to risk swallowing my spit.

Tom,

That seems to be the only logical reason someone would do that.

Btc,

Lol @ this "contributing to waste argument". Dude, your using more plastic. Take the extra cash you save from buying the gallon and plant a tree.

Spoiler:
I planted a tree in my yard this weekend in part by saving all that extra cash by buying milk in gallon form

As long as we're less than a week or so past the expiration date, the date at which you open the container of milk matters a whole lot more than whatever date is printed on the container.

How much more plastic is in two smaller container vs one bigger? And plastic, paper, or glass is recyclable here. It's about not wasting those resources in the store, when its just tossed out because people reach to the back.

It still seems pretty far fetched. I highly doubt these people with the 2 half gallons of milk are staggering the expiration dates period. Nevertheless to reduce waste but who knows, I've been wrong before.

I still think donating that extra cash you save buying by the gallon to milk research or some other waste reduction pursuit would yield better long term results. Not to mention the immediate reward for using less plastic.

People who don't buy their milk in bags. Reduce plastic, plus a gallon comes in 3 bags so you don't have a whole gallon open at once!
