I was the dark blue car. The light blue car saw me creeping up once the pedestrian cleared out of the way and slammed on the accelerator to get to the left lane first. I think he was planning to get to go first without a challenge and he needed to be in the left lane to turn at the big intersection ahead. What I thought was unnecessary was a full 180 degree turn to add emphasis while giving the finger. But he actually zoomed in there so fast(to end up sitting at the red left turn arrow a couple hundred feet ahead anyway) that it didn't slow me down at all.

He clearly has the right of way so there is no "challenge". He was planning to get to go first, because he DOES get to go first. Why aren't you waiting for him to finish his turn?
Do you think that whoever gets to their chosen lane first, is the winner, and therefore the driving rules must conform to that person?
Also, even if another car isn't there, you're still supposed to wait until the pedestrian is on the sidewalk before you attempt to go through the crosswalk.
