I honestly find it easier than pulling into spots now, but that could just be the shape of my car

find a spot that I can drive straight thru to park in, otherwise it's too crowded to be worth the hassle

Well, skipping it altogether is often the best play, I’ll grant you that.

People who pronounce Often with out the T. When I hear Offen, it pisses me off. People who post online in an opinion thread, who either state: "In my opinion", or put IMO. That is some weak sheet right there. Yes, we know that is your opinion. When someone comments on a controversial policy, legal, or moral issue and says: "I would never do or say it, but you should have the right to do it or say it". Yeah, nobody cares about your personal choice on this matter, and it is pissing us off to have to hear about it.

Anyone making a left hand turn against traffic, when a right hand turn and a double back will only cost them a small amount of time, and allow those behind to proceed. This happens every day everywhere, where someone gets to a busy interaction and then holds everyone up behind them. They are perfectly within their right, but it seems wrong.

Most left hand turns into traffic, where a right hand turn would be efficient for everyone, seem to rub me the wrong way.

People on their cell/mobile phone in the grocery store. Heck, people on their phone anywhere. Zero chance anything meaningful is being said. People who are on their phone walking about 30 yards in front of you, staring at their phone, and you just know that they are going to look up at the last second right before they are about to run into someone, or walk into a wall...lol. Of course, causing numerous people to adjust and alter course.

Yeah but it shouldn't piss me off because it's just a symptom of the human condition, e.g. I should totally expect ****ing morons to post inappropriate stuff in this thread by now.

Cliffs: People who pronounce the \t\ in often are dumb and low-class.
Quote:
In often, the \t\ came back via a spelling-influenced pronunciation in the 1600s, as both literacy and printing expanded rapidly in England. E. J. Dobson’s authoritative work English Pronunciation 1500-1700 notes that Queen Elizabeth herself did not pronounce the \t\, but that phonetically spelled lists made in the 17th century indicate that “the pronunciation without [t] seems to have been avoided in careful speech.”

Nevertheless, the prestige or upper-class standard pronunciation seems to have followed the queen’s example, because three hundred years later, the first edition of the Oxford English Dictionary added this note to its entry for often:
The pronunciation (ȯf-tən), which is not recognized in dictionaries, is now frequent in the south of England, and is often used in singing.
The medial \t\ dropped out of many common words formed with -en, but came back in often. It is common today, but still stigmatized with the label ÷ in the dictionary; some educated speakers certainly do use it, but others consider it unacceptable. And they will often correct you.

I'm not a big fan of a flat tax, but if we drastically raised the amount of money one could make tax free I would likely be ok with.

I don't think we need to make this a political debate, but when I am attacked I feel the need to respond. You need to stop attacking the straw man, he did nothing to you.
Is it allowed in OOT to call someone incredibly stupid? If so, it applies here.

If not, you are incredibly simple minded.

Backers piss me off.
*snortlaugh*

Backing crashes in parking lots are the most common crashes, and the most easily avoidable. Every single professional driver knows this.

I drove more than a half million accident-free miles between 2011 and 2015. It took exactly one sentence for you to establish, unequivocally, that you are a terrible driver. The pull-through comment is correct, that's always the best bet, but it isn't enough to redeem the abject, hopeless stupidity of your statements preceding it.

I went to Sport Clips a while back to get a haircut. When they called my name, the woman who is going to cut my hair introduces herself and extends a hand for me to shake. I know that it was not her idea as I noticed this interaction with other customers but wtf? I’m getting a haircut, we don’t need to pretend that this is anything worth shaking hands over. Put up with it a few times then I got sick of the place for other reasons.

As I like to say it, the truth can never be pejorative.

(Of course, defining terms well enough that everyone agrees a statement is true can be problematic).

You think I'm a terrible driver because I'm able to back out of a parking spot without hitting anyone or anything? I'm not sure if that pisses me off or not.
