Honestly hipsterism can be a little confusing and I think a crowd-sourced rundown here could be beneficial. Some examples for our consideration.

Person A lives in a gentrifying neighborhood with his girlfriend, loves to drink craft beer, eats a relatively expensive but still downscale diet. Mostly dines out at casual local places. He works as a web dev and often goes to see live shows of bands you aren’t cool enough to know. Also wears lots of scarves. Is this person a hipster?

Person B also lives in a gentrifying neighborhood with his girlfriend, but he spends many of his evenings getting drunk on pbr and well drinks at the local dive. He also goes to see lots of local shows and plays gigs in his own band, but his diet is mostly pizza. His clothes are accumulated from various life occurrences like marching band comps, bar crawls, charity runs etc. he works in an office doing...something. Is this person a hipster?

im not really sure what everyones idea of what a hipster is. but both of those are the same person, but one spends more on basically the same things .
