The worst thing about microwaved popcorn imo is that salt doesn't stick to it as if popped "normally." If you don't like salt on popcorn, then that is obviously a non-issue.

It really turned me off popcorn and I love it. I didn't eat it for years and even now only have it very rarely.
If a dentist tried to talk me out of eating popcorn, I would find a new dentist or ignore the advice. Not that it might not be correct ...
