In college I had a friend whose Girlfriend's dad would regularly call his cellphone with those kind of empty threats. One day in a packed dorm on a Friday night he told him "She might be your daughter, but her body belongs to me now."

The room erupted like there was a hail Mary touchdown to win the game. I don't believe the girl was back next semester.

We have a similar thing nearby. They even have a "Learn to Curl" Program. I clicked around for a while. The "Curling and Cocktails" caught my eye.

A key part of Curling is the drinking afterwards (broomstacking). It is such a 'nice' game that the winning team buys the losers their first round.

I play on a league and am the least athletic person you can imagine. If I can do it, it is certainly not an Olympic level sport---fun as hell though!

Haven't watched any speed skating b/c timezones, but I remember from previous years that short track often comes down to last person standing. I did catch this gif of North Korean cheaters:

People who think the close door button in lifts doesn't do anything in ALL lifts. Some places it works some it does nothing.

Re lifts, the lifts in my office building don't have "close door" buttons, only "open door". So those ****ers 20 feet away can still make it and hold me up and there's nothing I can do to stop them.

I'm sure this should piss me off.
