I've noticed a lot of memes people are sharing on facebook now look like a static image but they're actually a video. I guess this keeps people from just saving the image and texting it to people, so it probably encourages the "share" button but it's ****ing annoying as hell (not because it's preventing me personally from doing anything, just the idea that people are trying to make things harder on purpose).

I think it also counts views so it provides a metric for how many people see it where a still image doesn't. I hate it too.

Speaking of which: Calling every beer style that has a lot of hops IPA. FFS, some of these beers are as different from an original British IPA as Yeungling is from Guinness. No one would accept it if we called Yeungling a stout, just because it is a dark color, yet if someone adds extra hops to a Schwarzbier, it's suddenly a "Black IPA" instead of just, I don't know... a hoppy Schwarzbier.

I like a nice Summer Shandy. Last year my sister bought a variety pack and one was a Summer Shandy with grapefruit instead of lemon. I gave it a try. Quite possibly the worst drink I've ever tasted.

The new craze in NEIPAs are "hazy juicebombs." From Beer Advocate: "Dry-hopping, the use of high-protein grains (flours, flaked oats, wheat), certain yeast strains, water chemistry, CO2 levels, and other techniques may also contribute to the beer’s haze and mouthfeel. But the overall goal is typically a hazy, juicy IPA packed with fruity and floral flavors."
