Hell yeah.

I don't get the hate. Unless someone thinks it's pinnacle Italian dining, in which case would be annoying.

The unrealistic way that film/television characters will drape their jacket over a chair or sofa. It's extremely subtle, but the physical cues make it overtly obvious that this isn't said person's actual jacket/sofa/house/life.

Shouldn't piss me off because duh.

It ruins my day when characters enter a room with something like a briefcase, then leave w/o it. I think a fine from the FCC is in order.

Ha, ha. Yeah I would want a very, very big backyard to consider keeping pigs as garbage disposal! Even on acreage you would want a fair distance in between.

...these silly peer pressure commercials that have started popping up in last few years. you know the ones where they gather a group of "real people" (AKA marketable and ofc ethnically diverse 25-35 y/o's) in the same room, show them their newest product(s) then proceed to ask them silly, directed questions about said product.

like somehow I'm going to want your product because you've shown me a group of "cool" people all circle jerking eachother in a small room for the chance at their 2 mins of fame?!?!

who the fk is in charge of greenlighting these ad campaigns? insults your intelligence. i guess i should just trust some randy corporate hipsters opinion about your product even though they are *clearly* preoccupied with trying to fit in and be agreeable.

someone else finds these commercials hilarious and did a good spoof:

Having plenty of exposure to marketing "geniuses" I can assure you that the reason you don't like those ads is you are not the target audience.

I'm never the target audience.

How people think that Kim Jong Un called Trump a dotard when it's just a poor choice made by the translator.

Kim doesn't make speeches in English FFS.

The Korean he used literally translates to "old beast lunatic", which is even more awesome.

My boss' father died, so we all pitched in $20 for flowers and whatever. But because we're scattered all over the country, and lol olds - I have to mail a $20 check to our dept secretary.

There are so many goddam moving parts to mailing a check:
  1. find a stamp (possibly buy stamps - ugh)
  2. find an envelope
  3. find my checkbook
  4. find the email with her address and her last name (we're real tight)
  5. write out the check and envelope which hurts my hand because it's more than I usually physically write in a week
  6. get the envelope into my car
  7. remember to find a mailbox somewhere and mail the envelope

More times than I can count I've gotten all the way to step 7, only for the envelope to slip behind something in my car and I forget all about it.

Where do you live that the mailman doesn't come to your home 6 days a week and pick up the envelope?

ETA:

That same mailman will sell you stamps without having to leave your home.

A condo complex. If you leave letters around the group mailbox sometimes they notice them and sometimes they don't. You kind of have to wedge them in somewhere and hope they don't blow away.

To catch the mailman to buy stamps I'd have to camp out by the mailbox. They generally show up between noon and 7pm.

I've never seen a complex mailbox setup that doesn't have a specific box/slot for outgoing mail.

You don't have to catch the mailman to buy stamps. Simply put the $ in your mailbox w/ a note detailing how many & what denomination you want to buy. You can also ask (or leave a note) for the mailman to leave you envelopes specifically for purchasing postage. All mailmen have them.

We have different mail people every day. I'm very lucky if I don't get other people's mail. I'm not going to subject them to a complex transaction.

These are the mailboxes. The letter is sitting up at the top but it's pretty loose and might not handle a good gust of wind. I've seen people leave letters like that but not very often. I certainly wouldn't do it with anything I didn't want to lose - which is most things I mail. Also mail theft/identity fraud is a real issue out here. I'm not gonna leave a check sitting like that all day.

The slot at the bottom is for bulk mail that won't fit in the mailboxes. It collects for days until someone throws it all out. They'll never see a letter in there.

This is a very common setup in CA. I haven't expected mail people to pick up my mail in most places I've lived out here. I usually just leave drop it off on the way to work or leave it in the office out bin. But I don't go into the office much anymore.

You can print your own postage stamps directly on the envelope online.

https://www.techwalla.com/articles/h...postage-stamps

You can also get them at a lot of grocery stores and ATMs.

As far as mailing goes, there are likely mailboxes at most shopping centers and around your town.

All of that said, I would be pissed too.

Yeah there are mailboxes all over. I just have to see one and remember to put the mail in it.

Printing stamps directly on an envelope with my home printer sounds like a circle of hell. I mean it's probably great if you do it all the time and work out the kinks. But I picture like 8 failed attempts at loading the envelope the right way, and other issues. Most likely it will need at least one ink cartridge replaced.

Then I finally get it right, only to forget again by the time I need to do it again. And by then it will need another ink cartridge replaced even though I've printed nothing in the meantime. Probably cyan, which it won't print without even though the stamp is black and white.

I paid $300 for this stupid Canon all in one printer thinking for that price it wouldn't do the ink ripoff thing as bad as my previous $100 printer. Wrong. It's worse. I get hives when someone expects me to print something.
