Garbage disposal means not having to clean the drain filter of disgusting gloop, having a dishwasher would alleviate some of it but not all of it. Cutting up veggies, rinsing plates, washing meats all leads to gunk in the drain...

I spend a bunch of time in northern Cal. Bubbies is fine just not what I find ideal in my pickles. I like my **** sour and and salty.

What exactly is great in them?

I completely don't get the concept/idea of its usefulness. I mean I understand that you don't want to put food waste in the general waste bin. Why not organic waste collection bin? Or even better if you are a house owner you can use a compost bin:

Here the worms would do the disposal for you. You save the energy + have great fertilizer for your plants. It is super green, clean and easy to use.

Lol anti garbage disposal people. Had no clue that that developed nations didn't have them in all kitchen sinks.

Hey, why would you want to clean up all your mess at once (When doing dishes) when you can just carry it all out to your ****ing rotting food bin?

I can appreciate compost, but very many people have no use for that.

I compost my food scraps. I don't take them outside after ever meal. I put them in one of those things you can keep under your sink that hold garbage and take them out once a week with the rest of the trash. When I get outside, I can put them in the green bin the city collects, or I can put them in my composter. I put them in my composter and fill the green bin with yard waste and let the city take that away for me. Every spring, the food scraps have turned into a few bags worth of fertilizer, saving me almost $10 a year.

My parents get their eggs from a neighbour who keeps chickens in his backyard that roam free into my parents' yard as well.
